Myre’auna loves her boyfriend Jamaris with all her heart and there is nothing in the world that she wouldn’t do for him until he decides to do the unthinkable on the night of their one-year anniversary. When she discovers that Jamaris loves his money more than he loves her, she’s faced with a hard reality and a decision to make-- to either continue loving a man involved in a crazy situation or devise a plan to get even. Fake Ass Fairytale is an explosive debut novel that explores the complexity of this relationship. Sometimes what you think is actually love is nothing more than a fake representation of what you actually want it to be. Myre’auna takes you a journey through the ups and downs of how tumultuous her love truly is.
Jamaris knows that he was wrong for how he did My. She was a woman with substance, independency, and beauty. My had an innocence about her, and Jamaris knew that, and took advantage of it. She walked into a situation blindsided, and that's what made the situation much worse. So many times, a person could be honest, and upfront, but instead, lead you astray.
My thought that Jamaris loved her, but instead, he was getting close to her, just for her to open up to him, love him, and trust him, just to pimp her out. She thought that he loved her, but all he loved, was how much money she could make him. Jamaris didn't give her an opinion of choice, but made the decision for her, but letting a stranger drug her, and have his way with her.... which was disgusting and wrong on so many levels.
Strawberry and Coco were supposed to be her girls, but instead of letting My know, that seen what was happening, and didn't say anything. I would've kick their a** on sight for turning a blind eye to it... I understand that Strawberry's loyalty was to Jamaris, but what happened to being a woman first?! She knew by choice, My didn't get that option!
I don't feel bad at all for Jamaris, and I hope that he gets what comes to him. The same way that he only cared about himself, I would've only cared about me, myself, and I as well. I can't wait for that karma to unfold.
I could not take the main character, Myre'auna, serious. Run, run...don't stop for that psycho "boyfriend" Jamaris?! What a different twist to a look at a lifestyle that is prostitution, good vs bad, righteous vs evil? Or rescue vs redemption? I was left with unanswered questions page after page and that's why I gave it 2.5 stars. It was a s-l-o-w read. Book II needs to answer questions.
This was a real rollercoaster ride of words. Jamaris is an ass hole but My is sweet as pie just caught up in the wrong story. I'm glad she woke up to smell the roses payback is a Bitch.
