The Celebrated Jumping Frog

Dylan has a great frog. It must be great because Dylan told everyone he knows that his frog is the fastest, highest-jumping, best frog ever. Trouble starts when a frog race comes to town and puts Dylan's bragging to the test. Will Dylan risk his reputation and race his frog? Will his classmate's store-bought frog leave Dylan's pond frog in the dust?

Dylan will have to decide if it is better to race his frog and maybe lose, or to not race and not lose...but not win. Luckily, Dylan has a few tricks up his sleeve. He also has a good friend, Zoe, who may hold the key to his dilemma.

Dylan's new frog, his new friend is supposed to be the fastest, highest jumping frog there is. He has been sure to tell everyone this and brag on his new friend.

Then he is told of an upcoming frog race and a classmate has purchased a special tree frog just for it. What does Dylan do? He can't let his friend lose after all the talk of his greatness.

The lengths Dylan goes to trying to give his frog an upper hand are hilarious. The story is great and has a really good, unexpected ending. I love the illustrations in this and how they blend so well into the surrounding page. Overall a fun read kids will really enjoy.

A great read for beginners. Fun while teaching children about cheating and doing what's right regardless of peer pressure.

A little froggy

Another cute children's book. I liked that Dylan eventually let his fears stop controlling him so the he could enjoy the frog races with his friends.
