Monica Ali's Brick Lane was based heavily on the results of this study.
The study is about Bangladeshi textile workers both in Bangladeshi and in England. Interestingly, cultural values in Bangladesh are becoming increasingly liberal in regards to women workers, while they are becoming more conservative for the Bangladeshi community in England.
