Rate this book
It’s been six months since Damien Douglas’s life turned upside down. Since the night that Destiny’s guardian Angel, Zahir, decided he wanted Damien’s life and stole it from him, none of their lives have been the same. The constant fear that Death will come for the baby growing in Destiny’s belly leaves everyone on edge. Zahir, regretting his decisions, wants to redeem himself but can’t find forgiveness from anyone and he desperately wants to protect Innocence, the daughter Damien will raise.
However, the powers that Damien inherited from Zahir’s bad choices are now becoming too much for his humanity to handle. As Angels, Death, and humans battle it out in a war between heaven, hell and earth, the saga continues as Damien tries everything in his power to protect the one thing he always wanted: his family. Will it be too much for him to handle? Will saving his family at any cost be a bigger price than he is willing to pay? Find out in the continuation of the battle between life and death as Destiny and Damien’s stories continue taking them onto a path that they may someday come to regret.

When J.D. Selmser is not too busy 'saving the world' or 'being awesome' he enjoys chasing sunsets and waterfalls. OK maybe he does not save the world, but he is always dreaming big and chasing those dreams wherever they might lead him. He is a hopeless romantic who traveled 1100 kilometres every weekend just to spend less than two days with the woman he is in love with until she was able to move to be with him.

Monday through Friday, he's an IT ninja, defending "the people and their computers" against nasty viruses and hackers. Wielding his mouse like a set of flaming nun chucks, causing most unwanted applications to shrivel back in shame. By night and weekends he is the king of scary monsters and romance sitting at his computer writing about endless love and those that grab hold of it and never let go, no matter.

Like most writers his goal is to put the pictures that are in his mind on paper and invite his readers on a heartfelt journey between heaven and earth and watch the war between Demons, Angels and a multitude of other creatures. As much as his readers tell him that his characters shock them so do his readers shock him too. The most evil characters are the ones he hears are the most interesting and some of the ones he thinks will be the most beloved characters are the most hated.

Damien Douglas’s life has been turned upside down. He’s no longer mortal, and must battle the guardian Angel, Zahir, for the fate of Destiny. Zahir, however, is now mortal, which complicates matters immeasurably. All Destiny wants to do, though, is survive to protect her unborn child
In Saving Destiny, book 2 of J. D. Selmser’s Immortan Obsession series, action rises to a fever pitch as a battle of the angels looms on the horizon. In this battle, only one can survive.
The author has created characters, bad and good, that you will remember long after you stop reading, and has used his skill with the language to create suspense, desire, fear, and just about every other emotion you can imagine. One thing’s for sure, after reading this, you’ll never think of angels the same way again.

This book was better than the first! It had better action to me. Also the characters seemed to grow more in this more than the last. I just love Damien so much and hope he gets a very happy ending when this series is over. Also the small grammar mistakes in this one are few and far between which is also an improvement from the first. I can't wait to read the third as this is a series that keeps getting better and better!

In Saving Destiny, the story starts out with a happy note, Destiny and Damien are together, and Destiny is pregnant. All seems well, if it were not for the ticking time bomb that is their unborn child.

Death wants the baby, Death has plans for the little thing, and Damien is not going to let that happen. To do that he has to use Zahir's gift, and to ask for help from unlikely sources. Things ain't going to be pretty, looks like it will no be in this book where battle is not between good and evil, but rather wrong and right.

But who is wrong and who is right? The one who knows is not talking, letting it run its course. Will Damien and his friends succeed in protecting the little baby, or will he lose it all in the great battle?

While the fighting scenes are gripping, it is the romantic scenes that I struggle with interest. Maybe I need to lay off romance stories for a while. Damien is still my favourite character for this series, because he is most human, and I think his character and Zahir's are the ones the author paid most attention to.

Overall, this might be my favourite book in the series, please do not quote me.
