"So much for Christmas" Mary exclaimed after her older brother James tells her their mother has been killed. Just days before Christmas, Martha Cooper's five children are faced with a reality that forces them to do something they haven't done in years. With a funeral to plan, they set their differences aside and work together to salvage the holiday. Even with their mother gone, they realize that they cannot escape her influence in their lives.
I gotta say...while I appreciate those that take the time to write so I have something to read, I'm pretty sure that I could've written this one. It was a short story and I found the writing to be very simple and almost boring...wow, I sound mean. That being said, it was a cute story with a happy ending...a quick read. I got it for a dollar so I don't fell cheated. :)
Just before Christmas a family get word that their mother has been killed. It forces them to get together and face things they have been putting off. Will it help heal problems or not. Made me do some thinking.
It was a nice short story, but it lacks. The characters were really interesting and Todd Cope could have really added to the story, which would have given more "zing" to the ending.
