It’s a nightmare from which she can’t seem to wake up. With no name, no memory and no identification, she can only answer to the name given to her—Hope. In the hospital, she is befriended by an older woman who becomes her lifeline, but even “Aunt Ruby” is stunned when Hope shares the mysterious circumstances of her amnesia and the unexpected complication: she’s pregnant.
When Professor Daniel Donahue returns to Florida from teaching abroad, he’s suspicious of the stranger now living with his beloved aunt. He makes it his mission to discredit Hope and disclose what he believes are her devious intentions.
Hope can’t help but feel the tension between them, but just below the surface lies an attraction neither of them can explain. With each passing day, Daniel finds it harder to deny his growing feelings, but before he can acknowledge them, he must face the pain of his past and resolve his issues with God. Can he lay his heart on the line, never knowing if someone else is out there, ready to reclaim his new-found Hope?

There times when you read a story and you know that God has touched the pen of the writer, His Last Hope is one of those stories. Beautifully written, showing God's love for His people. Even though we may go through tragedy, pain, suffering and lost His love never fails. God's arms are open waiting for us to fall into them; His Last Hope communicated this message beautifully. We all need an Aunt Ruby in our lives, this character was amazing. I love how she trusted in God and how she showed her love for Him. What can I say about Ryan? He knew his role as the priest of his home. Jasmine was a breath of fresh air and I really enjoyed how she wrote her feelings out in her journal. Hope, strong even though afraid of what the feature may hold. Daniel, broken but determined to not let the past hold him hostage. You will have to read this story to see what happens to these characters and how God uses them.
This was my first read by M.A. Malcolm. I was hooked from the moment I read the blurb on Amazon. Hope wakes up in the hospital with amnesia. She has no recollection of who she is or where she comes from. To add to the immense confusion, she's pregnant. That was enough for me to pick up the read and it propelled me forward to the end. Hope is befriended by 73yr old "Aunt Ruby." She welcomes Hope into her home while Hope works through her memory and life trying to remember. She butts heads with Aunt Ruby's nephew, Daniel Donahue. Daniel has a tragic past and it is the reason he can't see past Hope's supposed circumstances.
This book dealt with a myriad of issues. And through every issue, Ms. Malcolm handled it with the wisdom of God. The characters were stretched, their faith tested, and in the end, they recognized God's goodness. It's an excellent read and I recommend it to everyone.
If we just trust have and believe. It's amazing how God lines up our lives and put you in the path of true believer's. We often ask ourselves why terrible things happen to us. But when it happens positive things come out of it. A testimony that will help so many people. God is glorified in this story.
Just finished reading His Last Hope by award winning author, M.A. Malcolm. An inspiring Christian Romance that touches on the brokenness we suffer, and how we overcome adversity with hope and strength from God. Valuable lessons in this story, in which love triumphs over all in unexpected ways. A great book to read.
To be honest, the first part of His Last Hope had me sort of dazed...a pregnant woman killed, so I reread it again. When I truly buckled down in this book, I enjoyed it! Daniel was the true example of a man who harbored un- forgiveness in his heart. His being robbed years of happiness and joy was definitely a prime example for those who allow the enemy, the hurt, and the ones who did something that warrants forgiving to barricade their hearts against forgiving. Then there was Hope.....whom I figured had to be an intelligent woman in her post amnesia life because she was so precise in her thoughts. I could never imagine losing my memory but tragic events can rob you of your life, if you let them. When I read a book that's worthy of being an aid in counseling, I don't mind saying it....and this is one of those books! I'd share His Last Hope with any woman or man who has lost a child, experienced the death of a mate, or even been betrayed by a mate. Malcolm did an excellent job and I'm definitely looking forward to reading what's in store for Daniel & His Last Hope!
This is a well written book of encouragement and remembering God's promises during times of need. Many parts of the book are what I would term as "wordy" and felt the author could have condensed the overall page number.
My favorite character was a seventy-three year old gentle woman named Aunt Rudy. Aunt Rudy was the keeper of family and friends secrets and soothed everyone around her with great advice that was laced with Biblical quotes.
Although this is an even paced moving book parts of it feels a bit slow and drawn out which left me bored but I'm glad I stuck it out because the message in the end is divine.
If you enjoy reading Christian books I recommend checking this one out.
Refreshing! “His Last Hope” is a perfect combination of love, faith and family. This inspirational novel ministered to my spirit. As I read each chapter, I found myself being pulled deeper into the story because of the author’s writing style and the real-life issues involved.
The characters in this book went through pain and suffering, but love never fails. I have to admit that I got misty eyed several times. Of course, I couldn’t wait to find out Hope’s identity.
I am looking forward to reading M. A. Malcolm’s next book. Great job!
Really enjoyed this story, what an awesome God we serve. Even when things are not so black and white God has a reason. Hope is pregnant and in the hospital, why. She do not remember who she is. Daniel does not trust easily, his wife Victoria used him. When Daniel confronted her about something he heard she rushed off and was killed. God had a reason for Hope not remembering who she was, and for her to cross paths with Daniel. I fell in love with Aunt Ruby everyone should have an Aunt Ruby in their life. Jasmine and Ryan were awesome also.
Wow. What an amazing story. A young woman is in the hospital with Amnesia. She has no memories of who she is and what has happened in her life. While in the hospital, she befriends her room mate affectionately called "Aunt Ruby", and is given the name "Hope". Not only is she dealing with the fact that she can't remember her past, she has to deal with Aunt Ruby's nephew Daniel, who has some issues he has to deal with. God truly had his hand all throughout this story. This was my first read from this author, and I am eagerly anticipating future stories. Marvelous job.
This has to be one of the best books I have read in a long time. I am so surprised to learn this is the author's first book. It was well written. It was not always an easy read, simply because of the subject matter. If you want to be assured that God works out all things for His glory and your good, this is the book to read. If you don't want to be confronted with the pure word of God pouring into your situation literally, steer clear.
I absolutely loved this book! I am not an avid reader of Christian romance but I read it from time to time. The author did a great job with character development and each character actually had a purpose in this story. The overall message (to me) is that knowing and believing God's love and his faithfulness will prepare you for your journey through the valley. You will have nothing to fear!
Love this book from start to finish, I felt myself being lost in trying to figure out Hope's identity but than learned a valuable lesson that God makes no mistakes. I would refer this book to everyone

M.A. Malcolm has penned a truly unique, inspirational story about redemption, perseverance, and forgiveness . . . it’s a testimony that God does work his miracles in mysterious and wondrous ways!
Ministry. Hope. That's the best way I can describe this book. Everything about it. It ministered to me in so many ways.
The storyline was really good and made me think about if I was ever in that situation. I pray that if I were, God would bless me with an Aunt Ruby. She is awesome, as are all the other characters. I highly recommend this book.
I loved it and I got stuck on page 160 yesterday as it ministered to me and then attended service at a friend's church today and she preached about same thing, from Psalm 13, God has not forgotten me so I have to trust Him and praise my way thru
So interesting I couldn't put it down! I read it to the end. Very good, would never had anticipated the twists leading to the ending (which I expected). A great read!
This is the first time reading this author I enjoyed the story it was a different twist on an old boy meets girl story I liked it and will read more of her work
His Last Hope is about pregnant amnesiac who ends up staying with Aunt Ruby from His Last Resort. She soon butts heads with a Aunt Ruby's very protective and trust challenged nephew, Daniel. It's also the story of Jasmine and Ryan a newlywed couple, and Daniels best friends, who are expecting their honeymoon baby.
This was a beautiful story, with themes of trusting God no matter what and learning to bring our pain to Him so that He can bring healing. I LOVED IT!!!!! There is a third book coming right? This was such a good story. I loved the characters' journeys through the trials of life, and I loved the way the romance developed. Great story!
I cries so many times while reading this book. I had to remind myself to breathe at times. I stop several times to pray about past experiences that had been buried deep within the recesses of my mind. Awesome work M. A. Malcolm! May the Lord continue to bless you with wisdom to write more healing and life changing books. Can't wait to read the sequel.
I couldn't put it down. Anyone who called during the time I was reading, was forced to hear what the book was about. I loved the way romance was infused with Christian behaviour. It was true to real life and easy to relate with. I stopped reading to get her other book I was so impress.
The story of Hope was mysterious. Trying to piece it together before the author unveiled the whole thing was fun. This journey with Hope and friends was emotional as well. What dear people came to Hope's rescue at her time of need. The humanity and care was a strong influence. I can't wait to read Book 3 of the series. Enjoyed Book 1, just finished Book 2, so Book 3 has high expectations!
This is the 'realest' book I have ever read. The sequence of events are all relatable. Jazz's miscarriage and her reaction is exactly how I reacted when it happened to me. I am hoping there's more to come from the author soon
His Last Hope is a refreshing story about conversion, loss, and restoration. Both Daniel and Hope are thrown together after Hope's accident, in which she loses her memory. They tiptoe around each other and their attraction until they can no longer avoid what is obvious to everybody around them.
A time or two I wanted to slap Daniel being underhanded and stubborn. Aunt Ruby, Jasmine, and Ryan provide a wonderful foil for Daniel and Hope. Jasmine's story is poignant and will touch the hearts of women who have experienced the same kind of loss. Her testimony, which flows from her pain, is powerful and well executed by the writer.
