He started playing soccer in the streets of Porto Alegre, Brazil, to playing in the biggest club in Europe, F.C. Barcelona. "Ronaldinho," by Jose Maria Obregon, contains everything that needs to be known about Brazilian legend, Ronaldinho. Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, also known as Ronaldinho was born March 21, 1980, in Porto Alegre. As a child, he was very talented; he was recognized young when he scored all 23 goals of the match in a game. He then became a Brazillian sensation when he started his professional career at 17 years old. He started playing for his first professional club, Gremio, in 1998. He got transferred to Paris-Saint Germain in 2001 and did not play well his time there. In 2003, F.C. Barcelona had him transferred. He won many trophies with Barcelona such as the Champions League, the Ballon d'Or, La Liga, and much more. He also won titles with the national team of Brazil such as the FIFA World Cup. As time went by, Ronaldinho became too old to play soccer and began to play for weaker clubs. As one can see, Ronaldinho won numerous titles and will be remembered for his outstanding tricks and in-game dribbles.

Ronaldinho became famous not only for his wonderful skills and great free kicks but also, for his funny character and joie de vivre. He mastered a dribble called the "Elastico;" he always would make the sign that surfers do with their hands. Ronaldinho got inspired by Pele, a soccer player who played from the 1950's to the 1970's. Pele was known as the" God of Football (Soccer)" because of the numerous records he has broken. This book is categorized as a biography because it's about a person's life. This book contained information about Ronaldinho and his clubs. This person has changed lives because he inspired many children to play soccer and make soccer fun. He has also proved that practice makes perfect because he practiced numerous hours per day to become one of the best soccer players of his generation. Therefore, Ronaldinho is an extremely influential person because of his talent on the field which made children want to play like him.

The best part of the book would be when the author mentioned that Ronaldinho started playing in the streets before getting recognized. This piece of information was surprising because he played for the best club in Europe later on. The worst part of the book is when the death of his father was mentioned. Ronaldinho's father died out of a heart attack when he was only 8 years old, this part was sad since he lost his father at a young age. Another book by Jose Maria Obregon would be read because soccer is a wonderful sport and its players are legendary. This book could be recommended to soccer fans, F.C. Barcelona fans, and Brazillian soccer fans. It would also be recommended to people who would like to know more about soccer and one of the best player in the world.
