As the executive editor for this book, I am very proud to work with Fred A. Brede. He is a talented author with a great story to tell. His books have adventure and intrigue with a blush of romance that will touch readers hearts. I look forward to doing many more projects together.

Nick Carson is an honorable man with a good heart. In developing this story deeper, emotionally, we worked on building Nick's relationship with his Mom. He is tired of the secrets regarding his real father and wants answers. As they talk about the past and Nick learns more about his dad, the friendship grows stronger and his Mom trusts him with secrets she hasn't told anyone.

I was proud of Author Fred A Brede for working so hard to bring all the elements of this story together into one grand adventure. He really knows the Black Hills and the Mount Rushmore area. His descriptions of the landscape were vivid.

I would recommend this book for anyone. There is no foul language, the romance is sweet, and being a good person with moral behavior is a priority for the main character. His sense of honor is strong and it makes him into an extremely likeable man on a mission to uncover the secrets of the past. He is determined and works hard to clear all obstacles.

I really enjoyed LETTERS FROM THE HEART. I am always anxious to read a romance book written by a male author. Although I wouldn't seat this firmly as a romance, I do believe that it is an excellent bridge to the continuation of Nick and Sharons story in a romantic setting.

That being said, I love a good mystery! The mystery surrounding the entire plot and the life of Nick's birth father was really great to follow. You'll find yourself trying to figure it out right along side of Nick. The courting between Nick and Sharon was done very well. Very classy and very well...set to the time period which is refreshing.

All in all I give this a solid high 4 on the scale. I am thoroughly looking for the continuation of Nick and Sharon.

This is my Confession: There needs to be more romance novels that involve the National Park Service (I'm a huge fan of them, myself.)
