Twisted Harvest #2
Twisted Vow
Leo Vance is the psycho from the mall.
After surviving Christmas, he's just trying to stay sane, working a dead-end job and stalking the social media of Chloe, the co-worker he’s secretly obsessed with. However, as Valentine's Day approaches, a new monster emerges. A faceless entity that feeds on toxic passion.
It’s drawn to Chloe.
Leo is the only one who can see it, but the world only sees an obsessive stalker. He must fight a creature that feeds on his own loneliness, only to discover that in this new, sinister game... he isn't the hero. He's the sacrifice.

Oh wow what a crazy Rollercoaster ride of a Valentine's Day Leo went through after Christmas.
This story had me from the first page. I feel so bad for Leo through the story of everything is going through from the first story Twisted Wish.
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time while reading this, I devoured this book so fast. Absolutely loved it. Cant wait for more!

Love can be a hunger, and Leo may already be part of the feast.
Two months after surviving Christmas, Leo is still trying to prove to himself that he isn’t losing his mind. He works graveyard shifts, sleeps badly, and watches Chloe move on with someone else while he clings to the few physical traces of what happened at the mall. Then Valentine’s Day approaches, and a faceless marble figure begins appearing around couples whose devotion has curdled into obsession, jealousy, dependency, and fear. Each encounter leaves Leo more certain the horror is real, but also more aware that his own loneliness makes him especially easy to exploit.
The entity doesn’t just feed on romance. It feeds on the damage people do while trying not to be alone. As Leo follows the pattern, Chloe’s new relationship grows more possessive, his own fixation becomes impossible to excuse, and every surge of heartbreak seems to strengthen the thing watching from the edges. Worse, a corporate presence connected to the mall is monitoring Leo closely, turning his fight for answers into something that feels less like survival and more like an experiment. The pressure becomes increasingly calculated, forcing him into situations where his worst emotions are exactly what someone seems to want from him.
Leo’s biggest threat isn’t simply the creature. It’s the part of himself that understands it. His loneliness, jealousy, guilt, and need to protect Chloe all make him vulnerable, forcing him to confront the difference between love and possession. The harder he tries to save her, the more he risks becoming exactly what she fears he is, and the horror only sharpens when he realizes emotional honesty may be more dangerous than denial.
This is a story about toxic devotion, weaponized loneliness, and the violence hiding inside the promise of forever. The supernatural threat feeds on what the characters refuse to admit, while the human danger comes from how badly they need their own version of love to be true.
The Elevator Pitch: As Valentine’s Day closes in, a lonely, hypervigilant clerk begins seeing a faceless marble presence feeding on love that has curdled into obsession, jealousy, and fear. The closer the threat circles the woman he cannot let go of, the more his own loneliness and fixation become part of the danger, blurring the line between protection and possession. With every emotional wound turned into fuel, survival depends on recognizing what is feeding the horror before devotion becomes another kind of trap.
Horror Intensity: 🩸 Intense

Dark, eerie, and addictive—this series just keeps getting better.
Twisted Vow is the second installment in the Twisted Harvest series, and it leans hard into the darker, more twisted side of love—especially through the lens of Cupid himself.
This time, we follow Leo as he’s forced to face a harsh reality: the girl he loves wants nothing to do with him. Between losing his job as Santa’s helper and working at a convenience store during Valentine’s season, his life is already spiraling. But then things start to get… strange. The deeper he looks, the more he notices just how unhealthy—and unsettling—relationships around him really are.
One of my favorite things about Brenda’s writing is how vivid it is. Every scene plays out like a movie in your head, making it impossible not to get pulled in.
This book also expands the bigger picture, hinting at what’s really going on behind the scenes and teasing the mysterious puppet master pulling the strings.

This is ... Something different! In a good way ;)
A dark, paranormal horror story - set around Valentine's Day!
"Twisted Vow" is the second novella in the "Twisted Harvest" series and the writing style as well as the way the story was told completely captured me (and of course, the story itself)!
If you're looking for a different kind of Valentine's story, then pick up this book! I can only recommend it!
A huge thank you to Brenda Nighthawk for providing me this ARC! I am giving my honest opinion in this review.

absolutely love this book and how it carries on from twisted wish! The roller coaster that the MMC goes through again will have you gripped from the start!
I fell in love with MMC in the first book, but I loved him more in this one especially with valentines and everything he does to help save people.
highly recommend this read as either a good quick valentine read or just something you will truly enjoy..

Leo loses his job during Christmas only to get another mind-numbing job at a convenience store during Valentine's Day. The same entity that he saw in December is making an appearance now. Leo realizes that he has no control over what happens to him and the perception of those around him. Being inside his head, hearing his thoughts and experiencing his feelings is bazaar.
After reading this, I had to shake my head, so those feelings/thoughts didn't take root in my brain 🤪

Man Leo can’t catch a break. He’s wondering when the shoe will drop and when the entity will show its ugly face again. He stuck again at a dead end job that he hates which he then realized he was chosen to do this job for a reason and just a pawn in some sick game. How can he win against the entity that isn’t like the first?

This book was amazing! Leo never gets a break. I feel bad for him. 🫂
He's the psycho from Xmas..
I think the real horror was how Brenda describes the crappy, hourly, minimum wage dead end job 🤣🤣🤣💀
But seriously this was great. The monster feeding on toxic "love". And the secret "higher ups" controlling everything. *Chef's kiss*
I want more of this adrenaline fueled, high anxiety craziness. 😂💜

A quick and captivating read, this is the second book in the series and although I already loved Leo from the first book and that only grew stronger through out this one!

it’s an ambitious, moody horror story that doesn’t fully stick the landing, but it lingers in a way that counts.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
