You can't out-sin God's love. You can't outrun God's grace. Grace is amazing. Okay, you knew that from the song. But did you know it's also outrageous, unfair, scandalous, over-caffeinated, and irrational? Grace is the most powerful force in the universe. And the most misunderstood. Grace Like Rain inspires and challenges through real-life accounts--gripping stories of people surprised by grace and changed forever--hopeful stories about a God who did the unthinkable to save the unlovable. If you're turned off by the grim face of religion, look into the smiling face of Jesus. If you're fed up with the guilt trips and the shame game, come and stand in the rain. And let grace wash the dust off your soul.
As I started to read this great book i thought this would be a great book for youth work, but the more i read the more it became clear that i got that wrong or to put it better this is for everyone. If you want to know what the message of CHRIST is the message of grace is then wrote here it is. If you want a deep theological book that leaves you bamboozled then this isn't the book for you. It starts at a point we all need the beginning the gospel and takes you on a "journey" (need to find a better word) that will challenge you and point you not just to what Grace is but how you can live in it as well as enjoy what GOOD has done for us. This book does go deep but Jeff has a gift of being able to take you with him and not lose you on route. It is hard to find a more compelling book to show you about Grace. Obviously the Bible is the best book for this but this is a book that can sure help you and I do highly recommend it from my stand point i hope it is good for you as well.
