"The Leadership Secret - The Ugly Truth" is a good book to read. It reflects a wealth of experience that the author had as a recognized professional and trainer in the field of leadership.
What makes it different is its honest and critical analysis. For example, in one chapter of the book dedicated for “Coaching” the author writes “Coaching is now the must-have skill for the modern leader or manager … There are thousands of training companies that are willing to take your money, all professing to be ‘gurus’ in coaching, and that in one or two days they could get you at the top of the coaching game… For me this is concerning, since if they were this good at coaching, then there would be no need to take my hard earned cash for two days they would be delivering this in business themselves as this is where the perception of money is.”
It is the critical approach that the author demonstrated in this book that makes this book worth reading and makes the presented leadership techniques genuine and credible. This critical approach demonstrated how failures – even due to influences outside of one’s control - can be used as opportunities to devise the success of subsequent strategies.
The book covers a wealth of information related to the discipline of “leadership”, various models, tools and acronyms, and the history of how the training industry evolved. It would help the readers to decide on their goals in considering leadership training.

With such a catchy title, "the leadership secret" hooked my attention in just a few seconds.
Ok. let's say right away this is not a fictional book, which is what I used to read, but it rather falls under the category of "manuals".
But it's also a story. A sort of diary.
Is the author, that through his past unfolds and explain brilliantly what it takes to a successful leadership.
And you can clearly see that the author is more than competent on the subject, with a lot of years of experience behind him.
Plus here and there he quotes some studies that work just fine helping you to understand his theory.
the book is well written, the prose is clean and simple, and the author at the end adds an useful and well structured list of the books that you may want to read if willing to dig more in the subject.

This is a great resource for those who wish to learn the traits of a leader. This books gives many different developments in business accompanied by great writing. Those who wish to be successful leaders know their role and how to execute so others can also achieve their maximum potential. The best leaders will inspire those around them and make a difference in their lives.
I found this book to be quite motivating, which made me feel like I wanted to be a better leader immediately. If you're looking to improve your leadership skills this book is the perfect fit for you.
