Tamyra never considered the family curse to be real. Seriously, who even believes in werewolves? Waking up, naked, in a stranger’s backyard sets Tamyra’s reality straight and it becomes obvious staying in the big city is no longer an option.
Desperate to protect her full moon secret Tamyra moves to mysterious Shiver Cove.
Being a painfully shy girl starting her senior year, Tamyra’s fears of being left an outsider vanish when she meets an alluring and popular guy. Unfortunately, a ruthless bully has her heart set on him too.
Despite bullying threats, Tamyra finds she’s falling in love and is unnerved by her hopes his intentions extend beyond just friendly.
Adding to Tamyra’s torment, a new darkness is terrorizing Shiver Cove. Could she be the thing stalking the streets of Shiver Cove or has something far more sinister than she can imagine come to town?

Review of Shiver Cove part 1 by T. J. Shortt
This is a book for teenage girls and, no, I am not a girl and my teen years are lost in the mists of time but I raced through it.
Tamyra, the heroine of the piece has all the problems and hang ups to be expected in both teen fiction and teen life but has the added burden of being extremely different at full moon. Bullied at school, deserted by a terrified father, she is taken away from her Toronto home by a mother desperate to protect her daughter as the biological changes take hold.
They retreat to her aunt’s house outside Shiver Cove a small town with a small high school. Will this be a new start or will her problems overtake Tamyra.
The author deals sympathetically with the everyday problems of puberty and her readers will find the main character familiar and likeable. The story is nicely balanced between the fantastic and having to cope with it on a day by day basis. Will she make friends? Can she keep her nocturnal problem secret? There is plenty of pace and well grounded, filled out characters.
A good read well put together. My only let down was, that when it came to the cliff hanger end I was going so fast I nearly fell of my chair
Highly recommended for all romantics who feel life is only being mean to them.
I’m off to buy Part 2

**. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. That did not influence my review. **

Tamyra moved from the large city of Toronto to the small town of Shiver Cove because of her secret. She's a newly, come to age werewolf and her mother feels that being with her aunt, a werewolf herself, and around a better atmosphere will help Tamyra get through her last year of high school.

I enjoyed this book and the characters we got to know. I felt for Tamyra in her run ins with school bully Bianca, her fear in turning when she least expected it, and in liking the popular boy at school. As I read, I kept forgetting it was only 100 pages and I was disappointed to reach the end. Some of the dialogue felt juvenile to me and I would have liked to have had it lengthened a bit more and slowed down. But overall, I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading the rest of the books!

3.5 stars!

Tamyra is a teenage werewolf. She has moved to Shiver Cove to be with her aunt who is also a werewolf. The curse skipped her mother. Tamyra's father left when she had her first change. Tamyra encounters a bully, Bianca, at her new school. Bianca is also interested in the Sal. Sal and Tamyra are dating.

I enjoyed the book but it leaves you on a big cliffhanger. It is an easy read. The book seems very simplistic though. It would seem like Tamyra's mother would know more after being raised in a family of werewolves. References are made to strange things in Shiver Cove but it is never explained. Even with the cliffhanger, I would have liked to have more background.

Tamyra is a typical teen apart from the fact that she's a werewolf. Her father couldn't handle it and ran off, so Tamyra and her mother move to Shiver Cove to live with Tamyra's aunt. Tamyra struggles to make friends at her new school, but finds a love interest. Too bad that the school bully likes him too. Despite being a werewolf, Tamyra is a shy girl and seems to be a target for bullies in the beginning. It was well written and Tamyra was a sympathetic character. I did enjoy this book and I think it will do well on the teen market, but it is enjoyable for adults to read too.

I received this book in exchange for a honest review.

Tamyra is a werewolf and a teenager. The werewolf curse is genetic and has skipped a generation. After being bullied, she moved to Shiver Cove to be with her aunt Kiki, who is also a werewolf. Being a werewolf has not only isolated Tamyra from her friends but it seems to have chased her father away. He left when she had her first change into a werewolf. In Shiver Cove at her new school, Tamyra encounters a bully, Bianca. Bianca is interested in the Sal whom Tamyra is dating.

I enjoyed the book; it was an easy read.

I think this was a good werewolf book. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. I think my teenage niece would enjoy this book too. I know it is tough to be a teenage girl but with other issues of the werewolf kind it can be worse. I think this was a book worth reading. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Pretty good

I liked the story. Kind of a twist on the old werewolf stories, but interesting. Don't like cliff hangers, but this one was worth reading. Be interesting to see where it goes.

Werewolf coming of age

This is a typical teenage story with one little twist. The main character is a werewolf. The worst part of the story is her dad can't handle it.
