This was exceptionally difficult to get through. I really didn't enjoy it. Chapters were too long and not enough depth to the plot or characters.

Bonnie Reid needs a new start after finding her husband in bed with her best friend. She accepts a position at a hospital working under Dr. Jacob Layton as a midwife and nurse. She needs a new start for her and her 5 year old daughter Freya but her being late on her first day has her finding out that Dr. Layton may be a great doctor but has little tolerance for anything that does not run like clockwork in his clinic. What Bonnie doesn't know is that Jacob has a secret of his own that has him acting as he does , yet even as crabby as he is he opens his home to her and her daughter as the hotel they were temporarily in would be detrimental to Freya asthma. This story is so heartwarming and tender that you will find yourself engrossed from page one. Why would a Jacob one minute be so sweet and then the next become so angry. Read this book you will want to know why and you will enjoy the way two lost people find so much in each other. It has its sad moments but HEA outweighs them all. A lovely story by Ms. Wilson an author you will read again and again.
