A different kind of ghost story from the mind of Pepper Pace. For Kai, Vegas is a living graveyard filled with the ghosts of those who died during the apocalypse generations before she was born. Except for Addy, a well-meaning, grumpy old woman, her only friends are the dead.
Kai makes do as a scavenger, finding things for her customers using her special gifts. Business is good with Vegas rebuilding and settlers flooding in, all of them fantasizing about living the posh life of the ancients. The thing is, they can only imagine the world before nuclear destruction.
Kai can actually see it.
She has plenty to her love life—or the lack of it, her boss Teeka Fox's dangerous rivalry with the Black Heart Crew, and the visions that grow stronger with each passing day as the full moon approaches.
And now there's the new guy in town. The one with two different colored eyes—just like she used to have before she removed one of them.
With his arrival, her abilities are once again changing. Why?
Pepper Pace is the pen name used by the author. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she has always enjoyed creativity. At a very young age, Pepper had a gift for art and would spend most of her spare time drawing images that she later began adding stories behind. Soon writing became more important than the illustrations and though she still loved art, it took a back seat to her real love.
Pepper wrote her first novel when she was 12 years old and had written 2 more by the age of 18. Too shy to share her work with anyone, Pepper stock piled her many stories into notebooks until she came upon Literotica.com and was compelled to share her craft.
Pepper became instantly popular and won several awards each year in which she submitted a story to the site. After receiving popular feedback, she grew in confidence and created a popular blog entitled Writing Feedback where she encourages her readers to interact with her on topics concerning, music, writing, art and pop culture, and can be contacted at her blog: pepperpacefeedback.blogspot.com/
Pepper lives in Cincinnati where many of her characters also reside.
I loved the blending of post-apocalyptic horror and the supernatural. This was such an intense and interesting journey. I really enjoyed reading it. The ending and what the FMC did to help the ancients was a little hokey but it gave hope, which is nice.
I can't really say much for the romance because it really wasn't a romance to me. While there is a HEA, the relationship between the MCs was so on the back burner...they barely even talked. To me, this would be a horror thriller with a relationship in it.
This book, was what I was waiting for but I kind of, like the first book I was wondering what is going on. Where is she going with this book? Why did that girl do that to herself? But it was explained later and I had to take back all of my criticism because I got it at that point. The thing that stands out to me best in this book was when she was riding that ducati, and she saw this man, and something said, here comes the Sun, that tickled me so much. Oh, my goodness, and it was on from there. From there this could have been a movie. This whole book could be a movie. It would be a good movie. His abilities, her abilities, the other folks' abilities. It could be a movie the battle, the ancients. Then, seeing everything and getting out could have been a good movie. Oh, my goodness, this office mind is amazing. I wish it could have been longer honest-to-goodness I hate that it ended. I would have at least liked to stay till the baby was born but now, they don't even care about that. I love the book, Bravo Ma'am 🎉
Lunacy The Elemental Series Book 2 by Pepper Pace is Unforgettable! I didn't want the series to end. The characters Kai, Sun and the entire crew had me engaged. Kai and Sun are on a pilgrimage to actually save civilization, Past and Present!! The perfect story of good vs evil. Sun and Kai are Elementals and soulmates. This should be a movie 🎥 Outstanding storyline! Ty Pepper Pace ❤️
I enjoyed the backdrop, the main characters and the pace of this series. I absolutely loved Sun and Kai together and when they found each other, the chemistry between them was instant. The close friends that became family added layers to the story and as always, I can't wait for my next read by this author.
Great ending to the series. If I had to choose which elemental to be it would be Sun's not Kai's. Suffering because you don't understand and or do not want your gift can be hard. The author describes how choices can either stop, slow down or change the conclusion of your journey even in an apocalyptic world. Well Done Ms. Pace!!
No one does apocalypse romance better then Pepper..my bad..life affirming apocalyptic intense coupling... that surpasses romance.. and the amount of attention to details that flows like a stream through rocky planes....I read book 2 as intensely as book 1 ...and Sun now knows the reason for his existence.. It lead him to his moon...
This story was well plotted and executed. Sun and Kai were well developed characters the developed into what their destiny called them to be. Their powers were their yin and yang. Them knew each other the moment they saw each other. Sun knew Kai as his soulmate with a deadly task ahead of them. I' m just happy to read about their well earned HEA.
Phenomenal read. Drama, emotional, horror, and dystopian weaved into a new reality. Loved the series from beginning to end. Spoiler: I hate that Dex dies, and Echo misses an opportunity to find her soul mate. But I understand that his death was necessary. Well done Pepper. Looking forward to more books from you.
I was concerned that this would end in a trilogy (to which I did not see a 3rd book) or be a rush job. Thankfully, it was neither. This is more an apocalyptic adventure with a side of romance. No sex until near the end. But you will not mind because the storytelling is top tier.
I was thrilled to finally be able to read Kai’s story after Kindle Vella was discontinued. As expected, it was worth the wait. Pepper Pace never disappoints! I can’t wait to see what’s coming next!
The Elemental Series is one of the best series I reading 2026!
Pepper Pace has done it again. I read both books in less then a week, I could not put them down. Drama, action, suspense, amazing characters and most important a great story!!!!
It took me a while to get into the storyline. I kept picking it up and putting it back down but when I carried on I then was immersed in it until the end. I would definitely recommend. Peppers Pace never disappoints.
For the entertainment and spiritual journey of your books. I enjoyed the story of finding your soul mate. I am sure there will be many more adventures.
