Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. This fact is what helped Bella and Blue develop their unbreakable bond that has only gotten stronger over the last 15 years. They've struggled through the challenges of being big, confidence issues, and finding a man who actually loves them for their personalities and not what's between their legs.
It seemed that nothing could tear their friendship apart until Blue meets a mystery man, Bo, who she's been waiting to stumble upon for her entire life. The secrets and surprises that he's been hiding will change both of the girls lives forever.
This is a 3.5 read for me. I was drawn to the title of the book. I thought it was going to be a romantic story about how a big girl found love. The story was about two best friends Bella and Blue who were big women looking for love.
The story-line becomes very messy when Blue appears to meet the man of her dreams Bo. I sort of figured out what was going on when Blue forced herself on Bo and Bella could not tell Blue what she had discovered.
I continued to read the book because I could not believe where the story was going and it went there. I am still not sure what to make of this book only to say, it pulled me enough in to finish it. It was a short read. I am not sure if there will be a follow up story to this one.
I was gifted Big Girls Need Love by Angel Walker in return for an honest review. Once I began reading, the characters came to life. Bella & Blue were certainly the best of friends. This was shown through their compassionate nature when faced with various trials. Although the storyline mainly focused on their friendship, it also offered a twist that intensified this story. This was a great read that I recommend to all as I look forward to reading more from this new author.
It was a very easy read but it felt rushed. There wasn't enough back story/ history to understand why the characters were the way they were. If you're looking for instant shock value then this the book for you.
This book was a good read. I hated Bella dies. Bo needs to die for sure. Blue is just sad, so desperate for love and affection that she'll get it from her father. She needs to see Dr. Hill.
This is my first by this author it was ok but it didn't hold my i interest. I would love to read another book by this author maybe the nxt one might catch my attention
This was the craziest most twisted story I have ever read. I still don’t know how to feel behind it. What kind of father is that? And the daughter was too desperate to even know right from wrong.
While reading I enjoyed it. It keeps you reading. I am in full shock about BluCant wait will there be another book. Although I'm not into the sleeping with the daddy thing. All in all its a really good book.
So many questions and not enough answers. The title is very misleading. I thought this book would be about a plus size woman finding love..the right way.. who actually falls in love with their child or parent and then just accepts it.
This book should come with a warning. I would never have read it had I known about the “plot twist”. I won’t judge other people’s choice in literature, but this book literally made me physically ill. I couldn’t even finish it.
Bella finding out and accepting what she knew was truly sick. I know there are women out there in the world who are starving for a man but this a truly sick! Why?
“Big Girls Need Love” was gifted to me by the author Angel Walker. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect from this book or this author. It was above my expectations, but I still felt that it was something missing. I was glad to see the author took time and effort when it came to editing nothing it worse than a poorly edited book. The storyline, I liked the way it started off, however how it turned didn’t appeal to me. I understand it is about big girls needing love but somethings are just not that realistic and if they are then it is more to the situation than needing love…
Bo (The Deceiver): He knew from the beginning yet he chose to deceive the one person who had been looking for him her whole life. At first, I was team Bo but once I found out who he was and how foul he actually could be I grew not to like him at all. Honestly, it was no excuse for what he did yet some people are willing to act like it didn’t happen just to keep him.
Blue (The Oblivious One): She was desperate to find love and once she did she refuse to let it go. She just made me feel like she had no “backbone” when it came to love. Finding love doesn’t mean settle for just anything especially not in this situation. I don’t think anyone big or small would have just brushed it off like “Ok, So what and went along like nothing happened”. This part of her character screamed lack of self-esteem not lack of love per se. The way this ended with her and her reaction just didn’t appeal to me.
Bella (The Unbalanced): Bella has some issues, which many of us have. Despite those issues, she loved those the closest to her and would do anything for them. I wasn’t happy with what happened to her. It really would have been nice to see what happened if she had a chance to reveal the information she knew. I think the situation was just too overwhelming for her as it would be for anyone. Though she seemed unstable/unbalanced on the inside, her outer appearance she showed her probably had the most sense.
Overall, I think the author did a good job telling the story, despite the fact that I didn’t like how part of the storyline went. I didn’t think it was all believable that these things would be allowed because she was a big girl… Based on how the book ended I probably will not read part two…
This book right here took me on an emotional roller coaster. I was pulling my hair and screaming at my kindle the entire time. I loved the storyline and the unexpected twists. My reason for rating it 4 stars is that I found blue to be too forgiving. When she found out that her father/man killed her best friend and mother, she was to quick to forgive him. If not for that then I would have rated this book 5 amazing stars.
This book was so good. I really enjoyed it from beginning to end. I didn't think it would end the way it did. It wasn't predictable and that made it so exciting. This was my first read from this author and I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment. Kudos on a well written story.
Omg. Blue done lost her darn mind smh. *picks up jaw from the floor*. I feel sorry for Bella but she seemed obsessed with people especially Ms. Hill and Bella. #crazy. I'd definitely read part 2
A great read!!! This book was totally unexpected. A interesting tale of Friendship and the way we deal with dysfunctional lives. The way some people deal with mental illness and how we can get so wrapped up in our own lives we forget about the people that we love.
