Freelance writer John Standard is suffering from post-traumatic stress after having narrowly escaped death at the hands of a brutal serial killer. He travels from his home in Oregon to Zihuatanejo, Mexico, to recuperate. While there, he finds himself drafted into a search for the missing granddaughter of an Oregon millionaire. It is suspected that she has become one of the Paradise Girls -young American girls who are kidnapped from their homes and forced into prostitution in Mexico. Thank you Goodreads for the opportunity to read Paradise Girls
John Standard heads to Mexico to leave the job that has left him with haunting nightmares. His reporting skills draw him back to investigate a murder that happens where he is staying.
Very interesting book. I recommend it to people who like detective mysteries.

I liked it so much I read it again without breathing. There are characters, action and pathos; but it's unique, not just another story. At the same time, it's a little rough. It is sexy, shocking and scintillating, and I will read it yet again just for the writing. Roger Warren

A great story, told well. Jump in for a great ride through the seamier side of Mexico and a journalist on a search for what matters. I’m now officially a Towslee fan.
