What would the Hollywood scene of the late forties be without detective author and screenwriter Raymond Chandler? When detective Jeff Kelly becomes a drinking partner of Chandler's at popular Hollywood film business hangout Nickodells he puts the famous author to work when he is stumped at he tries to solve the murder of a blonde actress. This is one of many interesting twists in a book set in and around Sunset Boulevard.

I love Hollywood history because the film industry has had so many colorful characters. One of the most interesting was Harry Cohn, head man at Columbia Studios. Movie historian William Hare has pegged the colorful studio boss accurately and along with the actual history he provides and appearances from actual big names from the period he also serves up a nail biting mystery and introduces us to Chicago transplant and 1949 Hollywood detective Jeff Kelly.

Hollywood's Sunset Strip was plunged into the news with the 1949 murder of beautiful blonde actress Lila Lamont.

This tragic slaying forms the story backdrop for William Hare's noir detective work SUNSET BOULEVARD MURDERS as Hollywood detective Jeff Kelly attempts to solve a brutal murder that rocks the film community.

William Hare is a film noir historian. SUNSET BOULEVARD MURDERS rings with the realism of post-World War Two Hollywood during one of film history's most exciting periods.
