The first book of this yaoi series is doing quite okay, I don't like the romance much but I at least can live with it. What I like about this novel is how it introduces us into the world of this strange noble family:
Set in the backdrop of Japan in the modernizing Taishō period, the Seikanji Family is a decaying noble family struggling to survive in a rapidly changing society. There were three brothers and one youngest sister, their mother was long dead, and their father was....not interested in being a father nor the leader of the clan AT ALL (You ask: What does this man like? Oh, he likes spending time with his many lovers and having tons of sex). Instead of being raised by said father, the four siblings had been more or less raised by their father's male lover, who looked after them as a kind older man.
Now, the family's only hope rested on the shoulders of the oldest son, who set out to become a respectful military official, but as waves of power struggle and schemes hit Tokyo, his dream of success and saving his family's good name might soon be tainted by his passion for an ex-friend, who went under suspicion of being a traitor.
And it is just the beginning of a series of smoking hot yaoi romances with a historical backdrop.
