In the introduction, the author states that he wrote the poems during a very dark phase of his life, in the period of a few months. The poems have a certain raw urgency, but I found them very rough and repetitive. The theme is being jilted by a woman and then treating other women callously because he hasn't gotten over her. I didn't find any intriguing images or insights, nothing startling except how often he drops the f-bomb. I'm sorry he went through such a rough patch, but honestly, these poems aren't very good.
