P.I. is a gorgeous little penguin but he is also a private investigator. If you have a problem to solve P.I. is the one to call. He looks the part in his shirt, tie, black jacket and fedora hat.
P.I. awakes and looks at his missing penguin evidence board – a few more notes have been added since book 1 but he still can’t puzzle this out.
His Aunt Beth calls, she needs his help. Her baby, Kyle, is missing. P.I. goes straight to Perth Zoo and assures his aunt he will find Kyle. P.I. asks the other animals in the zoo for help. He asks the meerkats because they are inquisitive; the giraffe because she can see above all; the ghost bats because they have night vision. The ghost bat spies the baby penguin and P.I. takes him back to his mum. As a thank you she gives him a photo of his family. P.I. pins the photo to his board, the search for his family continues.
The stories are short at 32 pages and easy to read in rhyming prose. It is good to read them in order because they do have the continuing plot of P.I.’s missing family.
The books are written to help and encourage children with dyslexia to embrace reading. However are fun reads for all ages and abilities.
Little PI would not give up the search for his parents but in the meantime, he would help others to find their lost ones. At bedtime, he missed them most and hopes they would come home soon. Cute and sweet, a lovely anytime read for kids.
PI Penguin is an adorable and endearing character who helps his fellow animal friends to solve problems, find missing animals, and solve other mysteries that come up.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. As an author of children's, middle-grade books and novels I highly recommend these books.
"P.I. Penguin and the Case of the Lost Little Penguin" by Bec. J. Smith is a cute little story about a little penguin who gets lost at the zoo. P.I. is on the case and asks some zoo animals to help him on his quest in search of the lost baby penguin. My 9 year old daughter read this story to me. She loves the P.I. books as much as I do. The stories are great for younger children, and the illustrations are beautiful. Perfect book for early readers and also for parents.
Not kindle unlimited, remember getting them all as a freebie pack a while back, says 4 book series so assume the christmas one is 5, since my vision issues are not dyslexia etc can't say much about that, and it being children's book the formatting and spacking seems decent/good, but the legally blind thing eh not so much {and can't enlarge smaller text because just doesn't work with the size needed} but did switch {chromebook} from readium {reader} to Simple Epub Reader and put that on audio so was able to 'read' the books. Sometimes, either way, the 'rhymes' didn't quite work but doubtful a kid would notice.

I absolutely love this little guy. He is so very upset about his missing parents, but he still has time for his work. There is a glossary at the front of the book. Where it should be. The pictures are superb. The animals are beautifully done. This book is for ages 6-12. The youngest will enjoy Listening. The older would be a read together book. Then the older one will be reading to you. All stages are fun and exciting. P.I. Received a call from his Aunt Beth. Kyle is missing. She saw him at first swim but now he's gone. He went to see the Mike the Meerkat. He asked Sue. She sent him to Genevieve she can see high up. I wonder what kind of animal she is? Will she be able to find him? I found this book on a website for free for an honest review.
What a beautiful short detective story for kids ages 6-12.
I enjoyed the short story of ap.I Penguin going to find a lost little tyke and the colorful large I,ages as well as an easy to read font, too. Therefore, I wish to recommend this for five stars, for kids ages 6-12 and or in grades 1-7. I received this book for free by using KU, and in return, here is my honest review. By Lighter.
This book is for an advanced early reader. Helpful hint: The beginning page includes tricky words and their meanings. I enjoyed the mystery. The setting is Australia. There are talking animals. As a reading specialist, I would be interested in reading other stories about the main character, a penguin.
The rhymes are still ludicrous for youngsters. The vocabulary is levels above any reader who would check out picture books. The series hasn’t gotten better. The illustrations are wonderful, but the story isn’t worthy.
We received this book to give an honest review. K really is enjoying the P.I. Penguin and the cases he has to solve. I haven't had a chance to read to A yet but I am sure she would like them as well. Not only does the story rhyme but it has great pictures that are very colorful and pleasing to the eye. In this story he still thinks about his family that is missing but now he has a case of finding a baby penguin who has gone missing at the zoo. It is up to P.I. Penguin and the help of other animals in the zoo to find him. Will he also get an answer and get closer to finding his parents? K and I both wonder where are his parents and why did they leave him. We both have theories but we will just have to see what the main theory is.

This time the story takes on a Finding-Little-Nemo theme. The case is a search for a lost, little penguin in a zoo, so you have a colorful array of wacky animals.
In every single book, there is a reference on his missing parents, and it got me wondering if that case will ever be solved. It reminds me of my favorite show, Monk. It kinda makes you want to continue the series.
These books definitely engage young readers and enrich vocabulary and funny rhymes that are pleasing to the ear.
