This was soooooooo good. After reading the butler story, I ordered a bunch of her books - and luckily not only this one but the spin off too. I know what I'm doing tomorrow.

Seriously, though, she is a great writer. And while I don't mind those deliciously dirty covers, I'm afraid they make people think it's just smut when it's really not. A great story that mixes Japanese folklore and religion with, um, okay sex. It is a love story though, and one I'm looking forward to rereading now that I know it all ends well.

When he was three years old, Yoriya was abducted by a mountain god and lived there for about a year. But then he was cast back into the human world, and after living in paradise, he has a hard time adapting, even 17 years later. But on his 21st birthday, he picks up a stray cat - which turns out to be the mountain god who abducted him as a child.

I love stories where people from a different "culture" (mostly demons or gods and such) have to adapt to the human world. There's not that much of that, but enough to very much please me. Also kemomimi are always a good thing... and the love story is so touching and I was so worried how everything would turn out but it was all good.

I could name a few flaws if I wanted, but to be honest this managed to hit so many of my buttons I really don't. I really love the atmosphere of her books and I'm looking forward to reading more.

The art by Kasai Ayumi was gorgeous. Very much satisfying all around.

It would be better if the author gave more details about gods or lengthen the story.
