Bared Elements / The Science of Stripping Can an awkward Bay Area chemist working for a large pharmaceutical company become San Francisco's best known male exotic dancer? This book is the first of a true life three-part series documenting the exciting rise of Darren Michaels from an average nobody to the man the hottest women at the hottest clubs and the most happening house parties were demanding by name. San Francisco, California - March 19, 2009 - If you've ever wanted an insider's narrative of the hedonistic world of male stripping, The Science of Stripping provides a real life, meticulously recreated expose of the lust, luck and loot that follows the Bay Area's finest, most sought after male stripper, Darren Michaels. By 2007, Darren became a Bay Area phenomenon in the world of male stripping and continues to be so today. Darren Michaels arrived in the Bay Area in 2003 with only a Masters degree in chemistry from a Canadian university, a fresh mind and a dream of his future as an American. Conservatively, Darren landed a job and a visa, but quickly found himself living the life of a frustrated, dateless, unhappy nerd. Directionless and adrift, it took a confluence of two seemingly random events to thrust Darren into the world of male exotic dancing, a world so exciting and different, he felt he had to live a double life, hiding his weekend adventures from his co-workers and all but his good friends. In time, Darren could no longer suppress his growing infamy, nor the hollers and shrieks of adoring women. He found himself fully engulfed in his second life, Darren Michaels, Superstar. "Darren Michaels is by far the smartest and most entertaining stripper I've asked to dance for me," San Jose club owner Trisha Lee said of Darren Michaels in the summer of 2006. "I also think his abs are truly amazing." Over the course of three years, Darren Michaels documented his experiences outside of the lab, charting enormously engrossing and uncharted experiences had through chasing parties and tail from Bay Area houses to elite San Francisco clubs. Introspective and intelligent, Darren's first of three novellas comprises a compelling tale of an ultra modern rite of passage through the lowest and highest emotions a man can feel as he realizes a potential every man has but few choose to pursue.
