Men's magazines from the 60s and 70s are often creepy, gross, and filled with images that look more like crime scenes than some kind of erotic statement. Retro Oddities uncovers these images, recontextualizes them and puts them into a more deliberately crime-scene context. There's also a good assortment of creepy and horrible vintage advertising from the era giving a peek into the dark and scary underside of the newsstand. Joe Wallace's camera takes vintage images from the heyday of "under the counter" newsstand selections and mutates them completely.
