Winn Slater, abused by her husband, finally flees in the middle of the night. Unknowingly, she packs a framed picture with a valuable document inside.

short story novella. I haven't read this author before but is in the volume 1 collection of Forget Me Not Romance.
Fast paced story of being on the run from a controller. Hiding n forever looking over you shoulder. I've been there n its a stressful life living like that. Hard to make friends because you don't know how long your staying. But a truckie n roadhouse owner wanted more for her.
