The Bride Wore Boots (Rodeo Hearts Series #1)

Rose Kinsey wears designer jeans and spike-heeled boots. Bane Jacob wears worn Levis and dusty, worn-out boots. She attends elegant, big city parties. He attends ice cream socials. What could bring these disparate individuals together? Rose's father, a recently-deceased Kansas-rancher, has written specific instructions for her into his Return to Kansas for one year, attend his old church, and learn to run the family ranch under the tutorship of Bane Jacob. If she refuses, choosing to go back to New York and her career, she will lose her inheritance-which will go instead to Bane. If that's not enough, even if she chooses her father's first option, Bane must sign an approval release form for the will to take effect. It seems that a man she's never met before holds Rose Kinsey's future in his tough, weatheworn hands...

This story started out a little rough for me. What rancher has time to run two ranches, keep a yard and greenhouse in immaculate condition, be a part of the church choir AND have time to court a woman? It all seemed a little unbelievable. Also, I thought he was condescending and demanding to Rose for a big chunk of the book. The last half was much better. Bane showed a softer side and you could see why Rose would fall for him. Overall this was a charming little story.

After her father's will was read she realized she had to stay on the ranch for 1 year to receive her inheritance. She also has to learn how to run the ranch from Bane Jacobs. An enjoyable romance
