In all the deepest pits and in all the rank, vile dungeons that make up the illusion of Hell, no fiend is more feared than the dread demon, and for good reason. These pitiless monsters feed on bile and blood, they lap up the screams of the damned, they corrupt and destroy and they hate with an unrelenting fury. And to release one upon the world is the ultimate in black sin. When Commander William Jern and his wife Gayle are given an opportunity to move into one of the spacious Colonial homes on the Village Green, they jump at the chance. Only the Jern's new dream home quickly becomes an icy nightmare, as death stalks them relentlessly. It comes unheralded out of the night, and like all of us, they are woefully unprepared. Yet regardless of his state of readiness, William Jern must face terrors beyond imagination in order to save his daughter whose body had become a frozen vessel for a horror summoned out of the great Void. With the help of his son, Will, a boy struggling to find the courage to be a man, and an old woman who has foreseen the terrifying manner in which she will die, William undergoes the ultimate test to see how far a father will go to save his child. A horrifying tale of one family's struggle with the Void.

The Void - a terrifying emptiness filled with desperate souls and hungry demons. A vision of Hell and its denizens. A Hell where anything that provides relief from the overwhelming boredom of nonexistence is a currency sought from the weakest to the strongest. Here Hell is the absence of God. An eternity without relief, without kindness, without hope, without the light of the Lord.

An amazingly terrifying tale, frought with horror and danger that encompasses one family. The horror that glues your eyes to page after page, afraid to put the story down, fearing the dreams of terror sure to follow you into sleep. Nightmares are taught here. No hope follows you from the pages, only despair. Many sleepless nights. A great read!

Had to sleep with my light on

This series scared me. I stayed up too late reading each book and found that i couldn't sleep without a light on because i was too frightened. Great read, especially for those who like a little fear added to their life

An amazing story!

The characters are so vivid and complete. It's easy to be involved with them. The story is so clear yet easy to imagine and still plenty for your imagination. I LOVE these long stories but I miss some characters when it's finished! If you want a great read look no further!

Really phenomenal!!!

At first I didn't think I would want to read all three books to be honest. I was however, more than pleasantly surprised to be completely caught up in this amazing world and the depth to which Peter Meredith goes to tell us about the void and to look at the nature of good and evil.
