Contained within this volume is an odorous treatise upon the concept that has come to be known as “the human condition”. It is not a pleasant journey; in fact it is one born out of frustration, alienation, anger, and resentment. The imagery is informed by crime scenes, illness, psychosis, violence, and other unpleasantries. All of these things have been witnessed by heavy eyes that have seen modern man at its rawest and most debased. These are the reactions and attempts to understand such things.
T.S. Dann has collected macabre perspectives on life and death since he was very young. His creative energy is the product of a vivid imagination flooded with abhorrent dreams. Nightmarescape is his first novel in a series which explores a ghostly fantasy realm against the backdrop of dreams, memories, and death. In his adopted hometown of Atlanta, he spent five years at Georgia State University earning a dual degree in psychology and sociology. After enduring several personal tragedies during this time, he experienced a series of night terrors that inspired the world of the Nightmarescape. After graduating with honors, he spent several years working as a sworn police officer.
Dealing with many lost and damaged souls, his time in this field proved deeply informative of his storytelling.
T.S. Dann currently resides on the outskirts of Atlanta where he works rabidly on the Nightmarescape series. A book of erudite poetry is slated for a 2015 release.
100 Reasons by T.S. Dann is a collection of misanthropic poems (no sweet, frilly, odes to love here). Dark, gritty, poignant, and often grimly humorous each poem paints a vivid picture nonetheless. There are no wasted words and I often found myself reading them under my breath to fully take each one in. Since it's a collection of poems it's a quick read ( my favorite pieces were Asleep in the Deep End, Breaching the Hell Mouth, and Caustic Conversations on Modern Relations, to name a few) and well worth the time.
