七十以上カラー画像でなかなか飽きない一冊である。一作ずつ説明もついているし。Even if you can't read it, there are over 70 great images of ancient Japanese art. The titles and names of the artists, at least, are in English. Many of the Japanese titles have a pronunciation guide as well. The language of the period is so old that the titles given the pieces are often difficult to pronounce for native speakers of contemporary Japanese. More in-depth histories and analysis of each work is written, but only in contemporary Japanese. If you like looking at old ink painting, fan paintings, and wood-block prints, this is a feast for the eyes. If you can read Japanese it will be even more educational.
