Zach and Miles are from farm country in Montana and have been best friends forever. Miles has always been openly and physically affectionate with everyone, including Zach. But Miles is straight and Zach is gay. Zach came out to Miles a few years back, and he was nothing but supportive. The secret stayed between them because their conservative and rather blatantly homophobic families were not likely to be accepting.
Zach chose to go away to Portland, Oregon for college, a decision which his family was not excited about. But he had to get away. Miles stayed closer to home to study agriculture, it was not what he wanted, but it was the expectation that if he was going to go to college, he would study something that would be of use when he eventually moved home after graduation.
Neither boy had much choice… the expectation was that they would continue the family businesses.
Having lived in Portland for several years now, Zach was planning to tell his family that he wasn’t moving back after graduation. Miles sensed that his best friend was growing more distant and he couldn’t handle it. These boys had loved each other with their whole hearts forever. So when Zach stayed in Portland for summer classes instead of coming home, Miles decided to show up and spend the summer with him.
What starts with the boys spending time together and exploring the city grows more complex. Miles recognizes that Zach is growing away from farm life and toward a completely different future. He also becomes possessive at the thought of Zach ever dating another man. As Miles learns about Zach’s new life and finds himself confused by his feelings of jealousy, he stumbles onto a dominant/submissive chat room on Zach's computer and finds himself mesmerized by the idea of tying his best friend up and having sexy fun with him.
This book was intense sexually -- containing high spice with consensual bondage and domination -- and emotionally as the two boys tried to navigate an entirely new way of relating to each other.
I fell in love with Zach and Miles. Miles wants to be everything Zach wants and needs, and Zach can't stand the thought of Miles giving up (what he assumes is) everything Miles ever wanted to be with him.
The cast of characters was fairly small, but included both Zach’s and Miles’ families and Zach’s sassy college friend Joel. The chat room chapters were an interesting addition to the story that took me a moment to understand, but as a narrative device, they totally worked.
I was honestly nervous for a happily ever after because I didn’t see how they would get through the angst. But once they did, I cried out of happiness for them.
I LOVED this book by Ivy Glaze and can’t wait to hear your reactions when you read it. I hope you’ll love it like I did. Even if kink isn’t your thing, these guys are a great couple. Ivy writes in an accessible way, and the book took me less than two days to devour.

I went into this knowing it was part 2 in a series, but was a standalone book. I enjoyed it so much, that I immediately went and ordered a paperback copy of the first book.
This is an incredibly sweet story, that just happens to have a main character that enjoys B&D. I enjoyed the cuts to the 'Kink Talk' noticeboard, where our MC Zach, chats with other kink enthusiasts - some of whom have or will get their own books. I imagine that people who have come for hardcore spice and B&D may not think there was enough, but for me, the level was perfect. There were truly hot chapters, but there was also a beautiful love story at the heart of it.

This was a really sweet but also emotional best friends to lovers story with a queer awakening. The mutual pining really tugged at my heartstrings! It was definitely a bit more angsty than the first book but just as good. It made sense though because they both come from a conservative small town and coming out is not easy sadly even these days. I really appreciated how Miles accepted his own feelings as well.
I don't want to share any spoilers but let's just say I'm glad the main conflict was resolved the way it was (even if it did made me stress lol). The spice was also really hot, especially with Miles being so inexperienced. And as always the kink chat room was such a good addition, I can't wait to read the next book 🙌

July 19, 2026First of all I’m grateful that I got arc read this book and meet these guys zach is a beautiful guy who decides to leave a toxic home environment to live his own life the way he wants to miles is such a sweet guy doing what his family expects of him until it dawns on him that his love for zach isn’t just the love of a friend and it ends up being a sweet bi awakening for him and he discovers a dominant side he never knew he had and they are both so sweet together all in all beautiful read with great ending and definitely worth a read

I hadn't expected it, but this book is full of emotions and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
You can't help but fall in love with both MCs.
Ivy has delivered an excellent book in which emotions play a leading role and features a beautiful storyline.

I’m thankful to have received an ARC for Zero Confusion. I did not read book 1 but felt like i understood everything since book 2 was different main characters. I really loved Zach and Miles and loved their relationship of best friends from youth and that they’d always been so close. I love how their relationship developed. The family relationship for Zach was written well and I liked how it turned out in the end. Looking forward to reading book 1 and more of Ivy’s books!

If you pair the angst of being in love with your best friend that you’re oddly codependent with, with an mmc that’s a bit inexperienced but makes up for it with enthusiasm and some bedroom bdsm activities and a bit of a farm life backdrop you end up with this spicy and amazingly sweet book.
This was just so much fun!
