A few years ago, I came across a complete set of Equinox Vol 1, this is the 10 volume set from 1972. There were 375 sets produced in that edition and mine is #229. I hope my love for the artifact is coming across, because that is the reason to own this. It is all available online, in PDF format, but that does not compare to having the set. Whether snuggling up in the comfy chair with one of these opened, and just perusing the contents, or spiraling into Crowley's self-referential labyrinth, what a gas. The smell of the old paper, the weight of it... What can I say? I am a romantic, and a sucker for such gems of the Analog Age.

These are as telling of the times they were written in, as they are of magick and mysticism. There are book and play reviews, intellectual barbs, inferred cat fights and much else outside of ritual magick. Of course, there is MUCH about magick and Thelema. This is Crowley's Magnum Opus.

If you can get your hands on it, do. It is the pride of my library! I got mine for $560. At the time there was one other one online for $1,111. Right now I don't even see a 10 volume 1972 set for sale anywhere, just a couple of 1992 editions, (they compiled the 10 volumes into 2 books), for $1200-$2500!

If you are seeking then it is worth it to buy your own copy, though you can find complete pdf download versions, but somehow it is not the same as owning the real books themselves.
If you are serious about your journey then you will find a way to purchase a set. If you are just curious then make do with the download or scoop "GEMS of the Equinox". As I recall a complete set can run you $1000 upwards.
But who am I to say... it's your bloody journey, right?

I have been working on reading the Equinox publications for a couple of years now when I am able. I highly recommend the work, the payoff is well worth it. If you are able to obtain a printed copy, you are indeed fortunate.
