An excellent introduction of Spencer Cone, both a faithful pastor and devoted denominational leader. Thornbury shares just enough to whet the appetite concerning this little-known life from American Baptist history, that deserves a greater and deeper analysis. The chapter on Cone's "Counselling Young Ministers" is a clarion call for all "senior" ministers, including myself, to examine their obligation to nurture and build up God's called workers for this new generation.
