Are you prepared for the sexcapades of graphic proportions? All consensual, all graphic and with an emphasis on love, enjoying sexuality and pushing the boundaries of comfort, in essence, freeing one’s inner self to do what feels right. I have to say, author Jeno Marz knows how to push the envelope of comfort as she brings more tales of Falaha to life in almost 3D graphics.

Falaha’s Journey Into Pleasure takes place several years after the war, and Falaha is now grown and ready to experience more of what life has to offer than violence and fighting. Falaha finds love, acceptance and a sense of family as she finds a deep and true relationship with Eyuran as a couple, but their family is not finished growing. As unusual as it would seem to us mere humans, Falaha has found a second husband who is willing to share her with his son.
One more man will play into their family, a highly damaged, once imprisoned man who has built a mental prison within his own mind that he needs to be freed from. If one looks beyond the obvious, which would be the sexual encounters, one can see a theme, of acceptance and of learning to accept others.

Jeno Marz does take a unique approach to the universal need to be part of a unit, so if you are at all shy about in-your-face sex, with more than two people, this may be many red face moments. Get through that and one will find humorous moments, beak through moments and the building of a family unit based on sharing and caring, although sometimes a little more story could do the same thing!

This was a fun book to read.

Here we have three almost separate stories, but they are strongly united by the character arc (Falaha's personal journey into womanhood and family life). Some moments were hilarious and I was catching myself grinning quite often. This is a book about sex and lovers and fun, and at the same time, deep inside, this is a serious story about people and relationships.

The book is a journey into the depths of each character -- Falaha, Eyuran, Orewen, and Baro -- and the final piece in the story arc of this young family (which started in Falaha's Journey: A Spacegirl's Account in Three Movements.)

The book starts off with the small episode, Welcome to Adulthood, which deals with the two main protagonists' "entrance" into adulthood. This is an important moment for both Falaha and Eyuran -- they are a young couple -- so they make it special for each other. It's a rather endearing, precious story. :-D Also, from the next episodes it becomes clear that this was also the day when the final negotiations for Baro's life took place: the reason why Falaha was nervous.

The next episode, This Lonely, Lonely Spaceman, is about marriage, or, as it is called here, espousals. This is a culture where polyandry (and polyamory in general) is one of the norms. Falaha takes a second spouse, but not without some secret "assistance" from that man's close family and not without a mess that resulted from said assistance. Loneliness is another major theme here, however. There are three lonely spacemen: Orewen, who is about to remarry (the second spouse), his father Yaren, who lived an inhumanly long life and whose kids have long grown and are busy with their own lives, and Baro, who is left to relive his life's nightmares.

The last and biggest episode, The Man in a Box, is the main dish of the book. Here we have Baro reliving his memories and slowly realizing what is happening to him. We have Falaha and her two spouses who wait for the man to be woken up (he is serving his sentence). But the reunion is only a first step to their happiness. The said box here is not only a physical "prison" the man was kept in, it is also a psychological one, the inner barrier he had built himself to separate from people and the world (because of reasons). And, the box is also a set of rules and expectations society places upon an individual. The real conflict here is between fitting in and being ourselves.

While still true to exploring science fiction aspects of the world (OS Universe) introduced in the Trilogy (Falaha's Journey: A Spacegirl's Account in Three Movements), its focus is adult relationships and character study. So before you pick up 3.5, be sure you are comfortable with graphic sex scenes and strong language.
