not a complete review, just some thoughts:
- the fmc managed to annoy me a few times; her comparing herself so often with her sister got old really fast
- plus she got mad at the mmc for the idiotic behavior of her brother!? ma'am, you didn't deserve him in that moment...
anyways, I'll continue picking up books by this author, not sure how she can write so many mafia, diverse books 🤭

As a huge fan of this author and the Brotherhood series, I tore into this one and finished it in one sitting, so plan your time!

As we have followed Arsen Sarkissian's rise to Patron power, and Alexan's marriage to Riley McGrath, this book focuses on his cousin Talin, and her surprise arranged marriage to Riley's brother, Brenden. Neither of them want this event, but obviously can't refuse.
The intensity of this storyline kept my attention from beginning to end, and how this pair found a way to come through things together. I wasn't sure they'd make it, but I loved how they did it!

I do recommend reading this series in order for the best experience with the characters and to avoid spoilers, but you can begin here and backtrack. Begin the series with Midnight Wedding.

I liked this book a lot. It read easily and the storyline grabbed and held my interest well. The blend of tension. action, emotion, drama and steam was, I thought quite tantalizing.

Brenden isn't thrilled about the arrangement either. Both of them have spent their lives trapped beneath the crushing weight of powerful crime families, and neither wants their future dictated by someone else's decisions.

When Brenden uncovers information that could cost Talon's younger brother his life, the two are forced to work together, plotting behind the backs of their families in a desperate attempt to protect the people they love while finding a way to break free from the control that's defined their lives.
I absolutely loved these characters. Talon is fierce, witty, and refreshingly outspoken. Her sharp tongue and stubborn attitude had me laughing more than once, and I admired how determined she was to carve out an identity beyond her family's expectations. She refuses to be anyone's pawn, making her an incredibly satisfying heroine.
Brenden is exactly the kind of tortured mafia hero I love. He's convinced that everyone close to him ends up paying the price for his life, so he keeps his walls firmly in place. Watching him fight his growing feelings for Talon while believing he would only destroy her made their romance all the more compelling. Their relationship develops through banter, reluctant partnership, and undeniable attraction, creating an enemies-to-lovers dynamic packed with sizzling chemistry and emotional tension.
The story balances steamy romance with everything fans of dark mafia books crave—family politics, betrayal, violence, shocking twists, and constant suspense. Every chapter pulled me deeper into the dangerous world B.B. Hamel has created, and I found myself rooting for Talon and Brenden every step of the way.

Broken Mercy was a dark, steamy arranged-marriage mafia romance with just the right amount of “well, this is wildly inconvenient… but it works”
Brenden McGrath was the highlight for me. He starts off all cold, dangerous, and emotionally locked-down, but the man was absolutely smitten with Talin, and I loved watching that slip through the cracks. His devotion built slowly, which made it feel earned instead of insta-everything. Talin also had solid growth throughout the book, especially as she started pushing back, making choices for herself, and finding her footing inside a family and marriage full of secrets.
The chemistry was strong, the tension was fun, and the mafia drama gave the story plenty of danger and momentum. I did feel like there were a few slower parts where the pacing dipped, but the character development and Brenden being completely gone for her kept me invested.
Overall, this was a fun, spicy, emotionally layered mafia romance with a broody thief husband, messy family loyalty, and a heroine who had to learn she wasn’t just someone being moved around on everyone else’s chessboard.

This standalone Mafia Romance has Tallin told she’s to marry a man she knows nothing about, Brenden from another family. One afternoon she’s at a function looking for relief from the heat in a compromised situation and boy do her and a handsome stranger, Brenden enjoy themselves. Brenden has been given another chance after the epic failure in Vegas and marrying Tallin is his burden. Tallin comes from a powerful family with several siblings and her father is always looking for more power over his leader. These two marry and really don’t have anything in common until they spend time together but underneath it all the both work to get out of the marriage. Along the way they learn about secrets, lies and Brenden’s protective shell comes down letting Tallin in. When her brother becomes gambling ring is discovered she’ll do anything to have Brenden’s help even knowing he’ll never be able to walk away from this life. What these two get themselves into and out brings them together and going up against those in charge will give them a chance at life. I enjoyed Brendan and Talin's story. Talin meets Brendan by accident, amusing him with her antics at a party. Then, to her horror, Talin finds out a few days later that she is to be married, and her new husband will be Brendan. She wonders if he knew, and she was set up a few days ago. Although neither of them wants to be married, both think they are not worthy of the other in the relationship. Slowly, they start falling for each other, though Talin is not happy with the fact that Brendan stays away more than he wants to be with her in their new home. Talin finds out what Brendan is up to and tells him she wants to be with him and help him with the intel he's after. He's not happy but relents to some extent.

I love this story!
I just got done reading the bonus episode and it was hilarious! But the story didn't start out that way,Brendan was kind of a lost soul,he blamed himself for something in his pass that didn't go right,Talon was women No one seen but she would do things so she would get notice.Now they are order to get married and neither are happy but they make the best of it,he still does his thing of disappearing when ever he wants and it ready gets on her nerves. I like the couple together and she really helps get his life together, she stood by his side,she took time to listen to him to understand what he was going thru and why he was this way.He help her to be notice ,not to be taken for granted but it came at a cost to him,he couldn't just disappear when he felt like,he couldn't keep secrets from her,she wanted to go on jobs with him or she would spill the beans on him.But I have questions, Why was her sister crying,why she was engage to get married before Talon but Talon got married first,I know it was ordered but it sounds like she has been engage like forever! I really enjoyed this story and the bonus too!

Captivating Arranged Mafia Romance
How does Brenden McGrath let a girl like Tallin Sarkissian into his life without hurting her? He is going to ruin her like he has ruined everyone else in his life. She is going to lose her relationship with her siblings whether she wants to or not. It will never be the same once she marries him and moves into the big, strange house in Fed Hill. He has plans and she does not fit into them until she forces herself in. Tallin wants a way out. No more family, no more oversight, no more living in the spotlight of his father’s name. She wants to be her own person for once in her life. If Brenden helps her get what she wants, she will help him get what he wants too. Will they survive the path to get there though. Another intriguing storyline by B.B. Hamel that has spicy steam as well as the dark mafia danger and suspense that we expect from her. Enjoyed these two characters with their enemies to lovers relationship and all their games.

Talon Sarkissian, in an effort to escape the August heat enters the host's house to find somewhere cooler. Unfortunately, her reprieve is short-lived when she discovers Brenden McGrath in the room. Rejoining the party, Talon's worst nightmare comes true when her father informs he that her cousin, Patron of the Sarkissian crime family, has arranged a marriage between herself and Brenden. It is a marriage neither of them wants, but when Brenden discovers something that could get Talon's younger brother killed, they will scheme and plot to save her family and break the hold the family has over them both.
Loved these characters. They are well written, realistically flawed, and I have to admit that Talon made me laugh a few times, I loved her attitude. Steamy and dark mafia romance with some violence, surprise twists, and a happily ever after, I think this is a must-read and recommend this book to other readers.

Oh B.B. Hamel how could you do this to me?
Broken Mercy had me so divided. But probably not for the reasons you might think.
But first things first. It tooke a bit to figure out in which series BM belongs to since it's been quite some time since we've seen our favorite Armenians.
Brenden, our freedom seeking master thief, is non other than Riley's brother (Bitter Arrangement), who is sister in law to Arsen, the Patron (Midnight Wedding).
Which brings me to my struggles with Brenden and Tallies book.
Arsen and Lena's book is one of my all time favorites of B.B. Hamel. Those two characters are EVERYTHING.
So now reading about Brenden's plans and Arsen's part in them ... No no no.
Nobody should ever dare go against him.
BUT it wouldn't be a B.B. Hamel book if it wouldn't have a beautiful hard won HEA.
Just go read Broken Mercy and get your emotions played with. It's worth it.

Broken Mercy is a steamy, forced marriage, Mafia, complicated family, flawed characters, strength, growth, and finally love story. Talin and Brendan are both not at the top of their family trees, as they are the younger siblings. Talin tries hard to prove her worth to, and hopefully gain the love of, her father. But no matter how hard she works and what she does she is still not the "valuable" one. Thus she is arranged to be married to the younger sibling of the McGrath Irish Mob family. He is a master thief but still not recognized for what he can do in his own family. He is told he will marry Talin. They both do not want to be married, so when Brendan sees Talin for the first time it is a surprise to him that he knows immediately she is meant to be his wife. They have chemistry that sparks from the start but then they also have a push/pull connection. Meanwhile there is danger, drama, tension, and emotions running throughout.

This one features Talin who gets caught cooling off in a risqué manner. Brenden does not interrupt until she notices him. Talin is the youngest daughter in her family. And is surprised to hear she has been contracted to marry Brenden. It will tie their families together. Relieving some of Brenden’s guilt for a botched job. They both want out of their mafia families. So Brenden hatches a plan to steal something incriminating that he can use to blackmail their way out. Meanwhile they both catch feelings. When all is said and done will they get their escape? Or will they get caught in the act? This book is fast paced, steamy, angsty. There are also some laugh out loud moments. It also revisits some characters from previous books. But this is a stand alone and doesn’t rely on previous books to tell the story. I loved it.

Arranged marriage for Brendon and Talie.
Brendon's skill set was needed by Talie's family and he owes his life to Sarkissian so he agrees to marry Talie. They had an interesting first meet where he gave her "O". They didn't know each other and both didn't really have enough power to stop the wedding.

Talie and Brendon were not my favorite characters from books I read by this author. They didn't seem like they like each other much but they were willing to do it to save her family even though she is not really happy with them. I wish they were more involved or more loving toward each other instead of just meeting couple time and done. It was lacking chemistry for me.
I would give 3 1/2 stars since it ended in HEA and they finally found chemistry at the end.

Brendon's skill set was needed by Talie's family and he owes his life to Sarkissian so he agrees to marry Talie. They had an interesting first meet where he gave her "O". They didn't know each other and both didn't really have enough power to stop the wedding.

Talon is looking for somewhere to cool off when she enters the hosts house, and she is mortified when she accidentally flashes Brenden, a mafia beast, and finds out from her father that she is to marry him. Neither Brenden or Talon want a marriage, but when her younger brother in is trouble, and it is up to her to convince her secretive husband to help her family.
This is a well written easy to read story., with family, friendships, emotions, tension, angst, surprise twists, an arranged marriage, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictibale dark mafia romance.

Best meet-cute ever!
I fell in love with Talin as she escaped a party to find a cooler part of the mansion only to discover that Brenden viewed her sexy display, and gave her a stolen lighter to remember him by! From the very first chapter I was hooked. Brenden really did it for me, he’s, dark, dangerous and formidable but his soft spot was evident when he fell for Tallinn. Neither wanted this arranged marriage but as it’s the norm in the mafia world they accepted it but it’s not that bad when the attraction and the chemistry is so good. A well written, dark, dramatic, dangerous and steamy story with great MCs although I wish that Tallinn didn’t always compare herself to her sister, other than that she was a likeable FMc and Brenden was just so fine. If you’ve read the authors books before you know that there are some sensitive elements in this story but personally I always enjoy these stories.

She thought she was just cooling off until she realizes that she just flashed a mafia beast. Now she is engaged to marry him, and their journey is filled with twists and turns that engaging and dangerous especially when she has to go to him to ask for help with the trouble her brother finds himself in. I loved the dynamic and power play between them. It is a great story will colorful characters that kept me turning the pages.

Tarin accidentally flashes Brenden while trying to cool off, and her life changes forever. Now they are both set to marry in an arranged marriage that neither of them wants, but they both want out of their Mafia families. One crazy plan later, danger, intrigue, unexpected twists, steam, and much more, they fall in love and get their happily ever after. This is a fast paced, age gap, arranged marriage, Mafia romance that has a well written story with steam and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Wow, the MMC is quite slippery! He keeps popping in and out, and I really wonder how the FMc managed to handle him. It can be a bit frustrating trying to get him to talk sometimes, but she was really persistent and finally managed to catch his attention. It's pretty amusing to see how the MMC just can't say no to him. The MCs have so much more depth than what might seem at first glance, which makes them even more interesting.

Another amazing story that had me hooked from the beginning. I couldn't put it down until I was done. The characters are well developed with a strong chemistry between them. The story is entertaining and intriguing. The suspense and twist and turns had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. I could totally see this as a movie. Highly recommend reading and look forward to reading more from B. B. Hamel.

Another fantastic book by the author. We become immersed in the lives of Brenden and Talin. What began for them as an arranged marriage slowly becomes more, and it was refreshing to see that Talin is a strong woman. A storyline that holds your attention from the start and completely draws you into their lives.

BB has given us another glimpse into the crushing weight of family obligations where on is promised in a marriage that they don't choose. But alass this story has a twist that thickens the plot where all is not all it seems. Where family politics, betrayal and violence is a way of life. Get caught up in this drama where Talon takes no prisoners and Brenden's walls are so high that the smallest Crack will be his undoing.

If you like a dark, organized crime, erotic, romance story then Talin ‘Tallie’ Sarkissian, and Brenden McGrath’s story line is just the book for you. As with most decrees within a Mafia organization, arranged marriages are required of the two main characters. This book is fast paced and one where you will become invested in the storyline almost from page one.

Talon Sarkissian and Brenden McGrath's story. Neither of them are thrilled about their arranged marriage. I love her witty banter, her feisty attitude and especially her brilliant mind. Brendon is the cold-hearted mafia man who doesn't let anyone into his heart until Talon. Brenden uncovers information and they are forced to work together to uncover secrets, lies and betrayals. Brenden was such a charming, if morally grey character and Tallin is the perfect person for him. Seen as obedient, quiet and the perfect brotherhood wife, in reality she is a strong, resourceful. Brenden is an enigma but little by lié et le his plan is revealed. I didn’t find the plot the strongest but the character development was excellent.
