This is an exploration of the many possible ways of conditioning, shaping, curing and mixing colours of polymer clay. This book includes practical advice on choosing the brand of clay and the most suitable tools, a guide to appropriate glues and how to use them, and tips on storing polymer clay. Ten step-by-step projects are included, ranging from simple to advanced.
this is the best book i've read on polymer clay and i need a copy, as i managed to find this at my nearly empty library somehow. it's less artsy-fartsy and more informative. there are graphs comparing different brands in different categories. premo isn't mentioned but i did the research on that one myself and it seems to make up for a lot of what sculpey III lacks while maintaining some of the better qualities which would cause a person to choose it over fimo. there's more information on how to use texturizers without particle transfer, as well as baking round objects in wool nests and what not to bake on. what adhesives are best. molds. not everybody has a damn pasta machine reserved for clay. there aren't many projects but the ones shown increase from easy to more advanced, with more objects needed as you go to complete, and they are thorough with the instructions with more examples of the skills and objects utilized for the project on the photo page so you can complete a set if you'd like, or have more ideas if you'd rather make a tissue box or a ring dish than a soap dish.
