A fair introduction to JavaScript

As a newbie to java, this was not easy. However, Ray gives simple exercises to do along the way, and that's nice and helpful. Java in 8 hours? Ha-ha! It's going to take me longer than that. This is a little book that I will have to return to for several revisits. At the back there is a self-test section after which answers are provided. A free download is also offered to keen learners.

Like a lot of people reviewing Ray's book, I'm a novice at JavaScript. I've bought a few of Ray's books before so I know that I would get a simple, easy to understand guide that I could handle. As usual, he didn't disappoint, delivering just that. Keep them coming Ray - and I'll keep buying them. Ray makes it so simple it's almost unbelievable. Highly recommended.

Good reference but outdated

If you want a quick reference, this book is perfect. However many modern commands are not included. It shows inline JavaScript which should not be used.
