Hiking: Hiking and Backpacking Guide for the Ultimate Trail Experience - Backpacking for Beginners, Backpacking Light, Off Grid, Hiking for Beginners, Camping, Hiking Guide, Backpacking Guide, Hikers
This should not have been published. It has no useful information. It is a nonsensical nightmare. Grammar, content, everything in this book is horrid! For example one passage reads: "Ever see a wild animal in your midst, you shouldn't just go chasing on after it because it can be quite dangerous and you should also keep the children safe. If you're lost then there is no need to be frightened just stay calm and look for possible solutions. Tell your kids to grab something and hold it so they do not feel scared. Also immediately call the agencies in case of emergencies and look for specific indications of the trail, which might lead you to a secure place if you're lost such as an identifiable stone."
Other advice includes making your own backpack (no instructions are given), and bringing a cooler full of ice on your ultra-light weight hiking adventure.
In fact the book is so full of nonsense my husband and coworkers were thoroughly entertained by reading it aloud to each other.
Another reviewer said the grammar could be overlooked, but this is beyond bad grammar. This is useless.
As a new hiker this is a good starter book. However now I'm ready for a more informative book. One with more info on equipment to purchase on overnight hiking.
Also this book needs to be proofed again. It can be overlooked however there are many grammar errors and even a section that was repeated.
Overall the book does have good info in it for beginners.
I purchased this book on Kindle, since my husband and I have been wanting to start hiking. Since the purchase, we have done hiking twice. And we’re planning for another one. So if you’re new to hiking, I recommend to read this book for additional hiking knowledge, so you could have a great hiking experience.
