I couldn't put this WWII story down ... had all the elements ... romance, intrigue and mystery, and the human element. Tells of friends' struggle against harrassment and hatred when they befriended Japanese neighbors by caring for their homes while the owners were in the internment camps that disgraced our land. A story that tugs at your heart strings!

I like the stories where it has both sides. this was only from the womens perspective.
