Unfortunate repetition
On its own, this novella is good. Unfortunately, it is basically a regurgitation of another book by the same authors “Bad Blood”. All that was done was change the industry the main female character was in. The dialogue and conversations are the same. Even her inner voice as she processes what is happening. I understand writing variations on a similar plot, but this is too close to being the same exact story. And quite frankly having read the other one first I think the other one is better.
