Caution to the Wind

Rate this book
Book One of the Elementals Series
___

Loren Bramley was no one--at least, that was what she'd grown up believing. She was unimportant. Even having superpowers didn't give her an edge.

Then Loren meets a hooded vigilante with superpowers of his own and ties to one of the richest families in the country.

"We're going to save the world."

Suddenly, Loren is pulled into their lives. She is the one they've been searching years to find, the last of the four Elements--and she is the key to saving the world... or destroying it.

Can she throw caution to the wind and dive headfirst into her new calling, or will she be the pawn in a mad quest for power?

She wanted to be important, but not like this. Never like this.

F.R. Southerland lives in Indiana with her husband, daughter, and their numerous pets. She reads a lot, does some baking and cooking, and enjoys a simple life.

Oh, and she writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance for self-publication. She also dabbles with the occasional book review, blog post, and short fiction for fun.

When she's not reading or writing or spending time with her family and pets, she can be found on social media, probably sharing cat videos and gushing about the characters of her newest series.

>Review - Caution to the Wind -

>I received this novel from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. I am an independent reviewer. This is the first book in the Elementals Series and ends with a cliffhanger.

>This paranormal story jumps right in with a quick meeting of Loran who has, like, no self esteem. She is saved and taken by a family of 3 more paranormals, Avery, Collum, and Eva. Each one of these family members have an element they control, fire, water and earth. Loren controls air, but she hasn't been trained and isn't very good at it. The story itself is kind of silly; keep the stones from the bad guy and save the world. The good part of the story is the relationship that begins between Avery and Loren and the interactions amongst the siblings.

>I only had 2 issues with the story. First, I was tired of hearing about how little Loren thinks of herself. We get it, she was bullied and put down her whole life. Secondly, Levi was totally evil, everyone felt uncomfortable around him, yet smart Collum let him in the group. Come on, that is not believable with the amount of security they surround them with.

>Other than those 2 issues, the story went at a very quick pace and was very exciting. All these powers come into play and the reader never knew what was going to happen. The romance was sweet and the new world was intriguing, to say the least. I wonder where the next book is going to go. That is always a sign of a good cliffhanger for me, not mad at the cliffhanger, just super curious.

>This novel is appropriate for an adult audience.
