His heart broke with the knowledge that Anemone had been through so much pain at the hands of the Vlad Kempf, leader of the Cadre. It would take time, but Hunter would do whatever it took to help his mate heal. But with Vlad intent on getting Anemone back, will the two be able to find a way to let their love grow or it will be trampled into the ground by the enemy?

Bestselling author of the Cedar Falls Series, Hart Medical Center Series, Miracle Series, and Paranormal Wars Series, Shea Balik has always had a vivid imagination with stories running around in her head. Often her stories are taken from observations of other people with her own spin.
Traveling is one of her favorite ways of fulfilling her passion of people watching. You never know, one day you may spark her imagination for her next book.
Whether at home or traveling she is usually in front of her computer writing or curled up with a good book.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
This series just keeps getting better with each couple. I loved Anemone's name and seeing his growth from naive young adult to a survivor and how his views changed was very important. He needed a mate like Hunter that allowed him to have time to work through his issues.
Wow, this series (Paranormal Wars) is no joke. Although, the characters are fun and definitely entertaining, the grief is extremely intense for me to get through. I loved Hunter and Anemone (who had been through pure hell) and their passion for each other was beautiful and touching. The story was suspenseful, and the ending was sweet and heartfelt.
auch hier wieder eine sehr schoene und spannende Geschichte, schoen finde ich, dass immer wieder nahezu alle Charaktere vorheriger Baende in die Handlung eingebunden werden
This book is part of a series and should be read in order. This series also coincides with events happening in the Paranormal Wars: Stone Haven series.
This book has become my new favorite in the Paranormal Wars world. From the minute I started reading I could not put it down.
Anemone has been in hell for the past eighty years. Drugged, beaten, raped, and forced to harm the environment for selfish people's wants. All his has are the fantasies he creates to take himself away from his hell. His favorite is the one about a cat shifter who comes and takes him away from all his has to endure.
One day the fantasies become the reality.
I loved Hunter. He is the team's assassin, and was trained from a young age by his sadistic parents to show no emotion. He has lived that way since. That all changes when he rescues Anemone, his mate. I loved how he went out of his way to make Anemone comfortable. Serious cute factors in the things he does for Anemone.
When the two finally consummate their mating, wow, just so loving and sweet and tender. Hunter really takes into consideration all that Anemone has been through. Hunter does all he can to never make Anemone feel threatened or scared about their sexual relationship.
I really enjoyed the slow burn this two had. Anemone is definitely suffering from PTSD, and Hunter completely understands it. The sweet little things does for Anemone, loved them, especially the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reference.
The best is when the chips are down, and Anemone takes back himself and fights back any way he can. This boy can do some damage and I cheered him on for it. Hunter was not bad either.
I simply loved this story. It was touching, sweet, loving, and sexy. Shea Balik really out did herself on this one.
Suprisingly, the timeline actually takes palce over the soure ofweeks and he MC's spend time getting to know each other. The re-kidnapping however.. not sure how that took place when the guys supposedly had guards (or someone at least) to keep eye out on the mates...But the re-discovery of attitude was a nice change in my book. Good read for me.
2.5 stars Much better than the previous books, even though there is a lot of copy and paste from Rune's Hope , the editing problems are still prominent and there are huge plot holes and unexplained events.
