Rate this book
Prayer is the raising of our hearts and minds to God. We are able to speak to and listen to God because He teaches us to pray. Prayer is also one way we can recognize and respond to God’s presence. Sacred The Prayer Book leads us into a life of prayer and in doing so, it inspires new expressions and depths of prayer.

The Scripture, prayers, and reflections in Sacred The Prayer Book will inspire you to a richer daily spiritual experience throughout the liturgical year and invite you to develop a closer relationship with God.

Each day of Sacred The Prayer Book includes Scripture reading and points of reflection, as well as a weekly topic enhanced by six steps of prayer and The Presence of God, Freedom, Consciousness, The Word, Conversation, and Conclusion.

Sacred The Prayer Book is designed to help you stay faithful to your intention to deepen your spiritual journey. It is the perfect gift for your parish, campus ministry program, small group, friend, family member, or yourself.

Once again the Jesuits have written a great book for daily prayer and meditation based on one of the Scripture readings for each day's Mass. I am getting a lot from this but will not have this "finished" until the end of the current "Church" year. This is wonderful for Catholics, and non-Catholic Christians alike as it is all Scripturally based and offers insightful ideas for prayer and meditation. I have been reading these for about 7 years now. It's a wonderful way to begin each morning and adds more joy to my life than on the days I neglect my readings.

I have finished this year's guide (the church year, not the calendar year) and it has greatly enriched my life this past year.

A good mix of calmness & contemplation as well as real practical relevance for the praying person. Along with the (original) web resources available - www.sacredspace.ie - it all represents a considerable global mission for spiritual renewal in everyday lives. So good to have a book to hold instead of a phone, tablet or PC I think but there's no excuse for anyone not to access this content!

Since this is a daily devotional for ALL of 2016, I am marking this as completed. It is a wonderful devotional that makes you stop, pray, think every day!

I am not Catholic, but the Catholic perspective did not interfere with the insight I received from the daily scripture readings and accompanying thoughts and prayers. It enriched my various studies and readings.
