Featuring twins, triplets, and multiple identities, this is a whimsical, romantic tale about the perils of living someone else’s lifeIt starts when Katherine Asher’s sister makes a date with two different men. When she asks her triplet to take her place with one of them, Katherine tells herself this is the last time she will agree to a bait and switch. That is, until the take-no-prisoners attorney meets her date. Architect John Wesley is nice, well mannered . . . and drop-dead gorgeous. And he thinks he’s kissing her sister Corrie! Pretending to be his twin brother has its occasional perks, but meeting “Corrie” makes Peter wish he had gotten there first. When he finds out who she really is—with two sisters who are mirror images of one another—he realizes that he and Katherine have a lot in common. Until they find themselves on opposite sides of an explosive case. The One for Me is a delightful story of love and romance . . . and being yourself. This ebook features an extended biography of Mary Kay McComas.

Let me start off by getting it out there, The One for Me is a republish from 20 years ago. Can we tell? No, not really. If only by the lack of technology, but honestly it’s not really missing. There are no miscommunications via texting or cell phone conversations. No, the story doesn’t need it. The One for Me is a slightly old fashioned romance story with classic twist and misunderstandings of identity and career conflict. There is also a bit of personal challenge and growth that our main character, Katherine struggles through.
The One for Me focusses on one of three triplet sisters, Katherine. The other sisters, Corene and Quinlynn, are secondary characters that greatly influence their studious and quiet sister. The girls are in their early 30’s and face the typical pressures of the age, gaining and maintaining successful careers and the need to pair off in committed relationships. The sisters have used their identical looks to bail one sister out of a few awkward situations. This is also the premise that sets the reader of for the inevitable angst, and this is where story begins, right in the middle of one of these situations.
What follows is a sweet and angst filled romance. The writing is solid even if there is one aspect of the storyline that is a bit outlandish, but the story doesn’t stay stranded in this twist. This misunderstanding could have been dragged out much longer, but I’m happy to say we are quickly moved through it. The twist to the story will make your heart ache for one on the girls. It is not to say that our heroine and hero don’t face other challenges. There is angst brought about by additional scenarios from their connections to each other. The 2 are pitted against each other and you’re not so sure they will come for the better.
I give it a 3 ½ stars – I liked it and yes, I would recommend. I think it’s actually a perfect recommendation for someone who is looking for a read about romance and a bit heartache and not hot and heavy sex.

Katherine, Quinn and Corrie are identical triplets. Peter and John are identical twins. They all meet when Corrie and John start a business deal together. The siblings end up substituting for them at a dinner. Peter and Katherine fall in love and all goes well at first after it's been revealed that they're multiples. Then the story falls apart. Katherine is a lawyer representing a woman holding up Peter and John's new development. They get into weird fights over it and lots of psychological crap. Really lousy ending.
What first attracted me to this book was the beautiful yellow tulips on the cover. It wasn't until I was started this review that I see this is actually a book first published in 1994 with an updated cover.
This was an okay romance with some comical parts with triplets changing places when one sister has two dates at the same time. And they didn't know the guy involved has a twin and they are doing the same trading places thing. At times, I felt like it was really confusing. Figuring out who was who took away some of the flow to the story.
I never really felt connected to any of the characters. Maybe if the book had been longer... but truthfully, I was ready for the ending about half way through the book.
Since this was the first book I have read by this author, I will give another of her books a try. This one just didn't hold my interest very well. It was an okay read but I liked the new cover better than the actual story. One star for the tulips, two for the story.

Triplets pulling a "switch-up" because 1 sister double-booked 2 men on the same night. So her 2 identical sisters help out by pretending they are Corrie. Quinn has dinner with him, then Katherine has dessert. Only this date, John, isn't really John, it's his twin brother, Peter. John didn't want to go, so Peter stepped in for him. When Katherine returns to the table after the "switch-up" in the bathroom, Peter notices something different in her eyes, but he can't place it, and Katherine can't believe this is the same mean, obnoxious, demanding man that Corrie deals with during the day.
Sparks fly, but the triplets have rules during a "switch-up" and Katherine has to play Corrie's part. Peter is VERY interested in Katherine, but can't tell her that he's not his brother. John, his brother, kisses Corrie, and Peter thinks it's Katherine. The Girls do too!!
Watch and read this romance. It gets even better when they have to work on opposing sides of the law.

This one was a little MEH for me. Triplets filling in for each other and love at first sight?!? I mean okay…then pair it with a set of twins doing the same. What do you get? Confusion. It got really tiresome keeping track of who’s who and did Corrie and John really sleep together thinking they were different people or the correct people? Anyway, that debacle got resolved quickly and the rest was Katherine coming to terms with her “savior” mentality with the aid of her BBFF (Best Boyfriend Forever)…well, that was quick.and weird. I think this needed to be fleshed out more and actually include Corrie and John and not just Katherine and Peter – a longer novel with perspectives from all four with maybe Quinn as the voice of reason?
I was first drawn to this book by the cover (the one with flowers). I also enjoyed Something About Sophie and What Happened to Hannah. I did not realize this book was from 1994. I just couldn't get into it and it seemed so far fetched. Twins and triplets pretending to be their siblings. Three days later they are all in love so naturally something happens to break them up. The book jumped around too much and more detail was needed. I would have thought Katherine's sisters would have been in the book more. I hate giving the book such a low rating but I did enjoy the author's other books.
