Will he be able to return the Eye of Gaea and free the love of his life from the laurel tree in the Black Forest?

Moments of Fear and compassion. As I dive into the Cedric Series I am met with complete mixed emotions. This is not bad at all. Each character you tend to engulf yourself into their feelings of hope, love and resentment.

Romasanta is the main character in this book and I will mention he is nothing like the one you meet in book one. If you are like most you wonder why is this creature so evil spirited? Romasanta wasn’t always a creature. Picking up from the first book, Book 2 tells of a farmer who cares for nothing but the love of his life, not anger and hatred.

Everyone has a past, and I fell in love with his. So delicate and caring trying to live life until devastation hit his farm. A creature has terrorized the animals on his land. As men tend to do they look for the villian who has brought such havoc upon them. Sometimes going looking for things you find it. He finds a gem as well as the predator and close to death something magical happens.

His magic wielding wife and sister knows what is to come and won’t reveal the secrets. Now one with the creature who almost destroyed him, Romasanta looks for help to separate them. This journey is a long and frustrating one.

I love how you can see the difference in the two characters, and it is so tear-jerking that you will want to get a cup of something warm and get in a bed and read the whole book.

Once again, Valerie Willis has sent my senses into overdrive for the third book.

Awesome READ!!!

Wow. Romasanta was… Everything a paranormal book should have and I am kind of sad that I can’t give more stars than five because in my opinion Romasanta was even better than Cedric and Cedric already earned the five stars square and fair.
That being said, let’s start at the beginning: We git glimpses of Romasanta in Cedric’s book and I strongly suggest reading Cedric before this one. You will understand the story better and it’ll make a LOT more sense this way than the other way round.
Romasanta’s story leads us through the times. Through the beginnings where gods and humans and other magical creatures lived next to each other over the middle ages where Romasanta’s involvement in everything started to make sense till the present when they saved Angeline. I didn’t like Romasanta very much in Cedric’s book, but I didn’t actually dislike him as well. I was indifferent, because I didn’t know what to do with his character. After reading his book, getting to know his journey through the times and realizing, what heartbreak was hidden behind his beastly exterior, I changed my mind. Romasanta is a lovely character full of depth, self-hatred, despair and honor. In fact he is so flawed and yet so perfect. It was awesome getting in his head, learning his story and rooting for him to get his HEA.
I can’t even explain how much I liked this book without putting spoiler after spoiler in my review. Just know this: This book is not like other paranormal books you know. It’s better. It’s different and it’s full of myths and characters you want to see again and again. I’m not saying this often, but this trilogy is a trilogy I want to put on my book shelves and not only on my kindle. It was an awesome experience to read it.

Willis delivers another page-turner in the Cedric series with Romasanta's story. I was a bit ambivalent about this character in book one, but reading his journey has endeared him to me quite effectively. Romasanta is such a complex character and my heart broke for him. He's full of self-hatred and oh, so flawed, but I couldn't help loving him in spite of those flaws - or maybe because of them?
It is impossible to explain everything that I found wonderful about this book without spoilers, so I'll just say that, once again, Willis has created a world of fantasy and legend that I absolutely couldn't put down.

Romasanta, the second book of the Cedric series, has several ties to the first book while also being an excellent stand-alone novel. The reader is sucked into the action in the first chapter where Romasanta searches for the infamous wolf, Fenrir, and discovers the creature has been trapped in a bloodstone. He must go on a quest to free Fenrir and also save his wife, Daphne, who transformed into a tree. If that isn’t challenging enough, Fenrir uses Romasanta’s body to turn into wolf form and exact bloody violence and feed his beast.

Willis weaves a brilliant web of paranormal histories into the story, sharing some old favorites, such as Merlin, Romulus, and Remis, as well as some lesser known mythological characters like Barushka and Morrighan. Romasanta is an action-packed tale full of intrigue, surprises, and the burning passion of a man desperate to save his love. Great read!

Who knew monsters could be so complex!

Loved the story of Romasanta and that it told more about Cedric! The journey has been a long one for Romasanta and it isn’t over yet. Can’t wait to see if Romasanta finds what he has been looking for and also, if Cedric and Angeline can find their happiness.

Book 2 of The Cedric series follows Romasanta, whom we met in book 1. It answers many questions from book 1 and digs deeper into some other characters we've met and introduces some new ones. I enjoyed finding out about Romasanta's past as well as continuing the entwined story-line from book 1. However, with that said, I found parts of this book at times to be more confusing than those in book 1. I still love all the intermingling of paranormal, historical, mythological, and fantasy elements of the book and recommend it if you have an interest in this series, and especially if you've already read Cedric. I will definitely check out book 3 when available. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily wrote this review.
