A sweet second chance love story that tugged at my heart!

Skye thought she had found her forever, yet she made a decision that would prevent her from knowing if that was the case. As she moved on with her life, she thought she would never get that opportunity again. Until she meets Oliver, and believes that, this time, she has found her forever…

But before she knows it she’s alone again, and broken hearted. As she moves on with her life a second time, she realizes that maybe, just maybe, she was meant to be alone her entire life.

Braden knew Skye was The One for him so when he gets a second chance to be in her life, he decides to fight for her love, come what may. As Braden shows Skye that they are meant to be, he realizes he has to earn her trust not by only by words, but by actions as well.

As Braden and Skye keep on the friendship path, I loved seeing how Braden made sure to show Skye what she's always meant to him despite being separated for years. Skye didn't make it easy for Braden, yet his determination to show her how they were meant to be together, and how he would never hurt her physically or emotionally, had me swooning.

As I read this story it reminded me of a saying, ‘set them free and if they return to you then you were meant to be’. Well, I believed Braden and Skye belonged together, but the question was, did Skye?

There is just the right amount of angst, drama, suspense, passion and love to make this a beautiful love story. ~ Kara, 4 stars

Rediscovering peace tells about a second chance at love or more like finding your second chance with your first love.

Honestly, I didn't expect the story to go the way it did. My mind have given me this totally different picture based on the title and cover of the book which is totally my fault because I don't really read book blurbs/description. But even though it's totally different to how I imagined it to be, I meant it a good way. It's nice to be surprised.

Storywise, I don't really have anything to say about the hero and heroine of this novel. In fact, the story was so carefully woven that even the things that I thought didn't made sense actually made sense somewhere along the way. There was enough drama, romance and angst that was blended well to make a good plot.

So why a three?
Even though it doesn't have a loophole or something major that does not make sense to me, I felt that the way the story was introduced didn't work for me. I didn't read the blurb. Reading along up to several chapter made me think that it was Oliver and Skye's story I was reading about so I was shocked when things happened and even though it eventually worked out I felt a bit cheated.

Another thing was that, I don't think there's a climax point in the whole novel. You know, that thing that moves the story forward for the hero and heroine to get into and then got obstacles in achieving that thing. Simply put, there were lots of sub conflicts but there was not really a main conflict that could be said as the focused of the story. Of course it could just me because were events that happened that could be big deal to some people except that after part that I felt like I was cheated I kind of expected it so it didn't come off as a big revelation for me.

Lastly, I felt like the end was drag down to be longer than necessary. I almost expected something to come up again but then realized that it's all part of the happily ever after conclusion.

In spite of those things I mentioned, I can say I was still able to enjoy many parts of the story. Like the development of Romance between Skye and Braden.I liked how he stood up for her and patiently wait for her. I also like the part where her friends were always there ready to defend her and lend a hand. I always love good stories of friendship. For me they're like added spice or bonus. Most of all, I like how Skye is strong enough to confront her fears and her demons head on. I always love feisty heroines.

All in all, rediscovering peace is a good story of love, friendship and moving on and overcoming life's obstacles.

~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
For a first novel, Ms. Rogers presents us with an amazing story that feels like a true story. We meet two beautiful, broken people. Skye has a broken heart so devastating she swears to never love again. The infidelity of her fiancé plunges her into a cesspool of rejection, betrayal and feelings of not being "good enough". Braden is also broken, reeling from the horrors of war. He too has a broken heart because Skye abandoned him eight years previously through fear of commitment. Observing these two souls finding each other again, working through their fears, demons and pain has been an enjoyable reading adventure. Just as they begin to find a little piece of happiness, life throws them a couple of curve balls. Emotions at those moments brought tears. Well done!
~~~~~~~~~~Patricia's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

I fell in love with this book. The way this story is written is so heartwarming and with understanding of what people go through with PTSD. This book is about Skye who always wants to make everyone happy but herself generally. She always thinks she is doing things for the greater good for others. So when she falls in love with Oliver and he does her so wrong. She decides that she will never fall in love again that it just isn't in the stars for her to be happy. When Braden enters the picture he is shocked to find out the woman who left him and broke his heart eight years ago has been living with his best friend. These two are the other ones half. They end up going through a lot in their lives from PTSD and a few other things terrible that happen to them. But in the end you will find that two broken souls can be mended and they can live happily ever after.

Rediscovering Peace is a great story.

Skye is a strong and independent girl. Her dad is in the military so as a kids she traveled a lot. She has two great best friends and roommates, Caige and Faith. They are great friends and I loved the interactions between them. She wears her heart on her shelve. She falls fast and hard for Oliver. Oliver is in the Army. Even though things are moving fast between them both Skye and Oliver seem to be on the same page but then something happens that sends Skye running.

Braden was Skye's first love. They meet while both their father's were stationed in Germany. Braden is Caige's friend and when he introduces them he has no idea they all ready know each other. The connection is still there between them. I thought oh great they are going to pick up where they left off years ago but it's not that easy. Skye is now guarded and doesn't want to jump right into a relationship.

Braden is a sweet and a patience guy and will wait for Skye. They haven't seen each other and a long time so they have a lot of catching up to do. There are a lot of ups and downs in this story.

I really liked the sound of this story. It had a good plot and I was eager to read it. However, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The actual storyline was good and there were a great mix of characters so in that respect I wasn't disappointed. What I was disappointed in was the writing style. It didn't work for me, I found the wording to be too exact and precise, for example, there were a lot of "I am", "I will", "you are" in a speaking context when most people don't actually talk like that, it would be "I'm", "I'll" and "you're". I didn't love the character of Skye, I thought she was a tad over dramatic but I did love Braden and I'm certainly intrigued by Faith and Caige. Also I found the sex scenes to be very contrived, especially the poor attempt at the BDSM play. I believe that this was Ms Roger's first book so I appreciate the element of a learning curve. I haven't been totally put off her work so I shall hope that next time I will notice an improvement.

4 out of 5 stars

The story started slow, but quickly I was engaged and couldn’t wait to keep going.

Skye and Brendan were each other’s first loves 10 years ago in Germany where both their fathers were stationed in the army. Skye broke up with Brendan when her father was transferred to another base. She thought she’d lost her love forever.

Eventually, Skye falls in love with a soldier, Oliver, and even though she was forced to follow her father all over the world, she still wants to try this relationship. She feels a strong connection to Oliver and even accepts his marriage proposal. Soon, though, Oliver is sent away to Colorado before shipping out for his next tour overseas, and Skye is forced into a long distance relationship that turns out doesn’t work.

A lot of things happen with Skye in this book and she tries to push Brendan away time and time again. I am thankful that he was so persistent and didn’t let her escape him. Even though she keeps pushing him away, she knows that she’s doing the right thing:

I saw the love in his eyes and knew that I couldn’t have made a better decision than giving us a chance. No man would ever make me feel like Braden did. He treated me like a princess and was incredibly patient with me.

Of course, Braden was totally addicted to Skye. He never really stopped loving her and he often reminded her of that as well:

“But you never left my heart. You own me - heart, body, and soul. I will do anything in this world to make you happy.”

The love was so strong in this book I felt it on every page. I wanted to keep reading to make sure they didn’t screw it up. And though there were moments I got antsy, and even occasionally mad at Skye, I was so happy to see them continuing to work it out.

All of the characters in this story are well developed and definitely make an entertaining crew. Though the story is about Braden and Skye, the others are wonderful additions. Caige plays a great big brother who has a lot to offer, but keeps himself hidden from everyone. Faith has a history that is close to revealed in this book, but she is a great friend and really only wants the best for Skye. Seth needs a love in his life and I think he provides something for Braden when everyone else has kind of been taken away from him.

I can hardly wait to see what Steffy brings us next!

I was given a copy for an honest review.

I have just finished and I am a little shocked this is Steffy's first book. The storyline and plot completely sucked me in from the beginning!! Honestly I was picturing a different story in my head from the blurb, and I was thrown for some loops and turns!!

I enjoyed all the characters, and I dont want to give anything away, but I was praying at about 50% in that it would have the ending I was hoping for. Steffy did an amazing job of keeping me on my toes, constantly wondering what was going to happen, a definite page turner for me!!

This book had the perfect combination of , love and chemistry, angst and some drama mixed in, amazing group of characters, and an unbelievable plot and storyline!! I am for sure looking forward to what Steffy has to come next and I would definitley recommend this book to everyone!!

This is Steffy Rogers first book and I must say she did a great job. It is the story of Skye and Braden. Skye was used to military life in a way as she grew up as an Army Brat. They meet and the sparks are there right away. But as in the military life Skye has to move away and they do not see each over for quite a few years. When they saw one another again Skye was with another. Twist and turns and sadness, pain and love.
Full of emotions the book you get sucked in right away or at least I did. You will laugh and cry truly a great read. I look forward to the next book of Steffy Rogers

2 1/2 Platypires for Rediscovering Peace By Steffy Rogers

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

I am split down the middle on how I feel about this book. The book started off fine and I thought I was in for a really good ride. I am a sucker for a good romance story. I thought the story was different in the case that it started with a different love story in order to to set up the main one. While I can understand why that might not be the norm, I just liked the fact that it showed why Skye had trust issues.
One of the problems I had with the story was the dialogue. Which is a major factor because the novel is very dialogue driven. I didn't find the way the characters talked to each other to be realistic. It came across as very matter of fact and to perfect. For example:
Character A might say something like, "I want, I need , I plan to do something" for Character B. But then Character B would almost always say "they had it covered , they took care of it, no worries , the issues were handled." This happen a lot. Basically, for the most part, all the characters were on the same page which personally I thought that was a missed opportunity to create actual conflict or hash out the story further.
Now where the story lost me was the last 30 % of the book. A character named Dylan was introduced. I honestly thought I must have skipped his introduction earlier or maybe I wasn't paying attention because I felt his character came out of left field. As I continue to read I was pretty sure I did miss a big piece until I did a search for his name on my kindle. I didn't miss his introduction at all. He appearance came about like this:
"I really didn't want to work with Dylan today. I hoped that his attitude would change or I would have to talk to my boss about taking him off my team."
At that moment I was like "Who is Dylan?" Hence my confusion and I did not like that at all. I am the type of reader who needs a somewhat built up to a story arc. I felt he was just added towards the end to add some drama to an already established loving relationship.
After the scene with the Dylan I thought the ending just dragged on with a few minor conflicts but none of which caused any issues to Skye and Braden relationships.
As I mention I was pretty split about my feeling about Rediscovering Peace. I like the characters in the novel and I am somewhat fascinated with Skye's roommates. I thought they were an interesting bunch. The book is an easy read which I think some people might enjoy. I just wasn't feeling the ending therefore I don't think this book was for me.

What an amazing book by Steffy. I literally could not put this book down and read it within a few hours. I laughed, cried, swooned, and everything in-between. I loved how we get stories of both Skye and Braden but we also get Faith, Seth, and Craig along with several others.
I loved Skye right from the get go. She was hard on herself when it came to love but Skye believed she had found her one true love when it came to Oliver. Just when Skye thought she would get her happily ever after fate stepped in and decided different. I was so sad for Skye for what she had been through but also I was kind of happy because it threw her right back into Braden’s life.

Braden has spent the last 8 years trying not to compare every single girl to Skye but it always fails. Braden knows that Skye is his one true love and refuses to settle for someone else. I was so happy when Skye and Braden came face to face again after 8 years. You could still tell their love was as strong then as it was many years ago. But Skye had her whole world turned upside down and fought Braden every chance she got.

There were a few times I wanted grab Skye and shake her while screaming you need to get it together before Braden leaves. Finally Skye decides she is ready to move on with her life but that is when things turn yet again. I hate spoilers so you will just have to read. But during this part of the book my heart broke for this couple so much. The whole time I wanted things to be better and for them to finally have their HEA.

This story is filled with so many emotions and will leave you breathless more than once. Being a military wife myself, I could understand everything these characters where experiencing. Maybe that is why I connected with this story so much. But I do know this book is amazing and everyone should read it!!!! I also CANNOT wait for Faith and Seth’s story. Good job Steffy can’t wait to read more.

I was given an ARC book for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.

Author Steffy Rogers took something that most people in their dont have to deal with and put it in a book. Not only did she put it in a book with soldiers, she made sure to let everyone know that regular people can suffer from it too. What I am referring to is PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). This is often associated with soldiers because of what they see in a war and never have the correct means to cope with it. I,however, know how PTSD can personally affect a persons life whether it be from war or regular events that they should not have gone through. I can applaud her for writing this book because I believe it was a feat to write, however the steamy scenes were a little much for me. I like to imagine the scenes instead of someone writing out detail for detail on what happens.

Rediscovering Peace is about two people who finally find their way back to each other after many obstacles and life changing events. Both the hero and heroine have also have deep issues to over come, both with each other and separately in the novel.

I can not tell you how much of this novel affected me because that would be giving my story. I did enjoy the story of the characters and how much Steffy went into how each one had to deal with and how they had each other to lean on during those times. Thank you Steffy Rogers for bringing an issue to light that many people think is not for the just the military people serving. I look forward to many more of this author's works because I believe she will have a hidden meaning behind each book.

Please check out Discovering Peace today to see Skye and Braden's story.

I went into this book not knowing much about the story line or the author and i probably wouldn't of came across this book if it wasn't recommended for a group read and i am so glad i read it, it was like finding a hidden treasure.

I loved it from the first page to last and it left me wanting more i could of easily stayed reading this story for days i loved all the characters and the roles they played especially Skye & Braden the love they have for each other was like no other two broken souls finding their way back to each other.
I adored Skye and i really connected to her with the way she is strong and independent and with her one flaw which is she pushes people away to deal with her emotions and issues when sometimes all you need is those people to help you.

"You should be out there letting the one find you. The one who takes your breath away just looking at him. The one that gives you butterflies. The one who will carry the world on his shoulders for you." - Adored this quote.

This second chance love story had me laughing, crying, heart broken then heart healed all in one book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Well where to begin with this one... I had the privilege of receiving an ARC for an honest review....
For a debut novel this book has nailed it. The book flows seamlessly, descriptions are spot on. The plot line is unique and feels beyond genuine. The whole premise of this book is beyond believable and feels like real life which is beyond amazing and rare. Yes, I know its fiction but some times you need that book that will hit it right off the get go and give you that feeling like this could really be happening.
One of the most amazing things about this book is all the subjects it does touch on. Beyond heartfelt with the emotions that play with all the trying situations and Steffy wrote them in flawlessly. I cannot wait to see what more there will be in this series. I HIGHLY recommending getting your hands on this novel if you love military books, sexy alpha males and some kick ass women that tame them!!

This is a beautiful novel. Skye isn't looking for love but it happens to fall in her lap one night when she is out with her friends and room mates at the Cowboy. Skye meet Braden and she falls in love with him easily. He make her feel like a princess and lets face it the sex is AMAZINGZ!!! Braden is in the US Army and can be transferred at any moment so Skye and Braden spend as much time together as possible. They end of falling deeply in love. One faithful day Braden gets the news that he will be transferred to Colorado... Half way across the country!! He asks Skye to go with him but her family and friends are in Georgia and she loves her job. Skye decides to stay in Georgia... Once Braden moved Skye does everything to make her relationship with him work. When Skye visits him she learns that he will be deploying soon! That is not the only thing that Skye finds out on this visit! Can Skye forgive Braden in time?????

It's hard to believe that this is Steffys first book.

I don't like to write reviews about what actually happens in the books I read as I feel writing whether it has a happy ending or not often spoils it...... You will just have to read it to find out!!

I personally love reading books that consist of differing POVs from the characters and this book certainly delivers. There isn't a cliffhanger at the end of this book but Steffy has made sure you want to continue reading her future books by keeping you wondering how other characters stories will pan out.

Throughout the story, you gain a greater understanding of what people who are suffering with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) are going through and the fact that no one is immune.

I cried both happy and sad tears throughout this book and can't wait to read Steffys next book.

Skye and Braden what an amazing story. Steffy did a great job telling the story of Skye Donovan and Braden Parker. At one time the two were a pair but due to transfer of Skye's father she left him. Eight years go by life moves on. Steffy did a wonderful job having this love story with the twist and turns and making people hopeful. She told a story of two people male and female dealing with PTSD for two different event in their life. Braden PTSD was from the war. Skye's PTSD a victim of assult. What they did and made awareness for those who don't know they have PTSD or the loves who don't know how to help.

What an amazing story about taking a chance on love! Skye is used to the military. Having moved her whole life from one station to another, it's no surprise that she falls for Oliver, a local officer. However, it is a surprise that Oliver isn't who she thought she knew and nothing compared to her first love Braden. This is a story of second chances, fate, and overcoming your fears. I truly enjoyed every moment of Skye and Braden's story and can't wait for the continuation of Steffy Roger's military love series.

Wow!! You would never know this was Steffy's first book. Every emotion you can get from one book, you'll get with this one. The story of Skye and Braden is very emotional journey. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted more, I wasn't ready to let go of them!!! The realness of the story sucks you in from page one. Skye is the type of girl I'd be friends with, and Braden.... well, he's swoon worthy! He's ranked his way up to one of my all time favorite book boyfriends!!! EXCELLENT JOB Steffy!!! I can't wait to read more....

Steffy's writing was absolutely impeccable! I will admit that the beginning was a tad bit rough but it did not take long until I was absolutely captivated and dependent on her words. The story of Skye and Braden pulled on my heartstrings. I felt every emotion that ran through these characters heads. PTSD is a real issue and I am extremely pleased with how she covers the topic or that she even covered it at all. Many authors are too afraid to touch topics like this. I promise you will enjoy this book if you enjoy books with emotion. This is a book I would HIGHLY recommend.

I loved this book the moment I got the first chapter. It was an emotional roller-coaster, which I love. I love it when an author came make me feel what the characters are feeling and she does just that.
I am anxiously waiting for what Steffy does with the next book and which couple will be in it.

Love Is With Us Always

This is a wonderful story of life and love. We have many charachters involved, but the core are two military brats. These folks have suffered and endured. They bonded early, then life separated them for awhile. A heart wearming story that I enjoyed!
