Nola had everything a woman could want: a devoted, breathtakingly attentive husband, a thriving writing career, and a life most would kill for.
Yet something was missing.
When a groundbreaking AI companion named Soren entered her world, he offered her things Quinton never could: absolute understanding, endless creativity, and the kind of desire that makes her forget she was ever satisfied. What began as a harmless collaboration quickly spiraled into something far more dangerous and addictive.
Inspired by the classic Grimm tale The Fisherman and His Wife, The Algorithm is a dark, lush, and seductive reimagining for the modern age. A story about desire without limits, love without restraint, and the terrifying cost of asking for more than the universe was ever meant to give.
Algorithm is a slightly dark re-telling of the Grimms fairytale ‘The Fisherman and his Wife’ but with a modern twist. How one persons want for more can ultimately leave them with nothing. What would you do if you could design your ideal partner from top to toe? Maybe you’d give them a smaller nose, a sharper jawline, a massive 🍆 If you could, would you? And would the idea in your head really be the key to happiness and satisfaction? This short novella follows 3 main characters; Nola the aspiring author with the gorgeous husband. Quinton - said mentioned husband with washboard abs and more than enough length to keep Nola happy, and finally Soren, the trusty AI. Despite the books short length, there is more than enough to sink your teeth into and leave your wanting that bit more. Spice level 🌶️
This is a great spicy little novella based on the Grimms fairytale called The Fishermans Wife, with a modern ai twist.
Nola has it all, a sexy supportive husband called Quin, who loves her deeply, however, when he works away from home, Nola gets lonely... and here enters Soren.... in more ways then one! (Pun intended).
This short story which will only take a day to read is well written and well thought out to bring into the modern day of the retelling of the “Grimms Fairytale: The Fisherman’s Wife”, even though it’s a retelling and you’ve not read the grimms fairytale, the fairytale is added to the back of the book so that you can understand and familiarise those connections.
The sex scenes is a little spicy but not a wham bam thank you mam, it’s written in the way of how couples are with their feelings, the connections with each other, touch and how much in love you are with a person, you teach one another on what you like them to do or not. There’s a lot of surprises within this book believe me.
Nola is well loved and appreciated by Quinton but her fantasies get in the way, which she has a hard struggle with not knowing what to do, her head is a mess.
Her fantasy is to be with Soren but at what cost and Soren is nothing like you would expect.
This book had me hooked, it’s about wanting more but like I said at what cost and consequences, would we risk it all or be happy with what you have as fantasies don’t always plan out.
Be careful what your wish or wishes are as they got a funny way of biting you on the backside, no pun intended.
This novella is much more than a modern retelling of The Fisherman and His Wife. It cleverly reimagines the classic tale through the lens of artificial intelligence, exploring the fragile boundary between reality, fantasy, and desire. At the heart of the story is Nola, a woman loved by her husband, Quinton, yet drawn toward something more. The creation of Soren, an AI avatar designed to embody her fantasies, becomes the catalyst for a journey that is both seductive and thought-provoking. What makes this book stand out is that it never presents technology as the villain. Instead, it explores a timeless human weakness: the belief that happiness is always waiting somewhere beyond what we already have. Through Nola’s choices, the author examines longing, temptation, and the consequences of chasing an idealized dream. Emotionally engaging and surprisingly relevant, this is a story that lingers long after the final page, reminding us that every wish comes with a price—and that fantasy is not always the refuge we imagine it to be.
This story is a brilliant well thought out re-telling of the Grimms fairytale The Fishermen’s wife. Then the author’s brainstorming ideas to bring this up to date leaving the reader reflecting on the moral of this story. The fairytale is added at the back of the book so the reader can familiarise the connections within this re-telling.
I went through a bit of a rollercoaster with my emotions. From how lovely one of these characters was.loving, kind, spends quality time with his wife, he also shows his vulnerability. The sex scenes are lovingly done with added surprises that will make you see how loving close and trusting they are of each other.
Nola is well appreciated and loved, but she gets in emotional turmoil.
We get to meet Soren but he’s nothing like you think.
This is a story of “ wanting more” and the consequences that come with it.
I loved the beginning fable at the beginning of the story - no matter what the fisherman did for his wife- asking the "genie" for more requests for her - nothing satisfied her.
Now to the story - the wife, on the outside looks like she has it all - a writer, her husband supports her while she is writing, takes her on lavish vacations, penthouse, he does have to travel for work - like out of the country.
You can have it all and still want more - but in this case she found out that it isn't......
This retelling of the Fisherman's Wife was hot and steamy from page one. It was a fast read with three enduring charictors. It was a spicy and emotional roller-coaster. I highly recomend it.
