This is an outstanding book. The author travels from England across northern Europe, Asia, and the USA by train (mainly), taking a container ship to traverse the Pacific. Beautifully written with wry observations, you can live the experience with him. There are many amusing moments and it is a great read which you don't want to put down. To travel in this way in the twenty-first century is a brave and imaginative thing to do, and it is so rewarding to have it memorialised in such a stylish and engaging manner. Heartily recommended.
