The book is about the life of Laurence Yep, one of few Chinese American writers. The book reads like an interview and is more than an interview. You see photos that are precious primary sources to get to know the author and understand his books about immigrants, particularly Chinese Americans. Living across cultures presents difficulties as well as opportunities for immigrant children as well as for their parents.
