At last, it’s understandable
Erica DeWaard has a gift, but she IS a gift. When she explains the Bible, we do not just understand the words, we feel the reality behind the words, and God’s emotions that made the words necessary. I only wish that five stars was not the maximum rating.

In Revelation, Erica DeWaard offers an approachable, chapter-by-chapter walk-through of the Bible’s most intimidating book, reframing it not as a code to crack but as an unveiling of Jesus, a story of judgment, mercy, endurance, restoration, and belonging. She begins by grounding Scripture in human texture, in “dust and blood and hunger and fear,” then moves through Revelation with a steady refrain: God isn’t panicked, evil isn’t permanent, and the Lamb is still standing. The book’s strongest through-line is its insistence that Revelation is less about predicting timelines than about forming faithful people.
I appreciated DeWaard’s instinct for nearness. She has a gift for taking theological material that often feels sealed behind stained glass and putting it back into the hands of ordinary readers. Her explanations of the seven churches, the 144,000, the mark of the beast, Babylon, and the bowls of judgment are clear without feeling flattened. Making Revelation understandable...funny and moving
Erica Dewaard posts every day on Facebook as 'Farmer Girl' on theology and Jersey calf raising. Sometimes both at once and sometimes she goes down random rabbit holes and posts about, well, anything her brain lands on. Anyone who reads her posts will recognize the familiar voice she writes this book in. Funny, contemporary and likely to trigger a spirited discussion in the group chat. I do wonder what folks who don't already know her style thought of this book. As for me, I couldn't put it down. I had already read her chapter by chapter analysis of Revelation from her Farmer Girl posts. This Short book pulls the whole chapter together with an emphasis on breaking down the complex symbolism of the chapters so that we can grasp the true meaning. The overwhelming feeling is comforting and reassuring...NOT something traditionally associated with Revelation. But Erika breaks it down, explaining how the battle was always won, that the story was always about God pursuing his people, never giving up, and that the Faithful were always secure.

This book is worth every cent and is excellent and easy to read.
Erica has a powerful, God-given talent for expounding and explaining what really matters in a throughly biblical and clear, expressive way.
Her thought provoking journey through the book of Revelation makes sense of what has often been confused and keeps the main point of it all first and foremost - that God has a plan; that He had it from the beginning; that absolutely all is under His sovereign hand and that those who repent and believe in Jesus have nothing to fear and everything to hope for and look forward to.
Keep your eyes on Him and persevere for His grace is sufficient, He paid the full price and Hallelujah, what a Saviour!
I love the way Erica shares her faith and trust in her Lord and Saviour each and every day through her Farmer Girl FB page! May this be the first of many books - well done, Erica ... using your gifts to teach and encourage many folks in this way!

A Revelation To Fall In Love
Approaching the reading and understanding of the book of Revelation has always felt to me like entering a dark, mysterious cave where I dare not go alone. Then a close Christian friend presented me with a print out of the introduction to Farmer Girl's journey through the book of Revelation. That was enough to light the fire in me! So many amazing insights of Jesus Christ to discover in her book. So many! Let me share just one of the passages that stirred me from Erica DeWaard's book:
"What you give yourself to shapes you.
You become like what you worship. Revelation is not saying God is waiting eagerly to smite people. It is saying
choices have trajectories."
I recommend reading the book of Revelation! Not alone and not before you read the devotion of a farmer girl's "Revelation: An Insightful Chapter by Chapter Journey Through the Book of Revelation!"
It will be my companion reading whenever I journey through the book of Revelation.

I have read Revelation in the Bible so many times and other authors study guides also, but what I loved about this book is she didn't waste time telling us exactly what she believes was important for us to know. I loved the easy to read, short chapters, on each chapter of the book of Revelation. Erica brought things out that I had never heard before. She has a way of writing that is encouraging, insightful and breaks down the confusion of all the imagery written than can make that book so hard to read. I look forward to reading it again alongside my Bibly study of the book of Revelation again. I give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and recommend to everyone to read even if they have to borrow a copy from someone! ♥️

Do NOT miss this
I've been a fan of Farmer Girl and have been in awe of her perspective and insight to Scripture. I read her posts all the time and was excited to read her book....
....I wasn't prepared for the impact it made on me or the understanding I gained. I devoured this book and then started rereading it! I studied Revelation many times and thought I understood it......sort of. This helped me understand it better.
So thank you Farmer Girl......your insight, wit and gifts are being put to use for the benefit of us Christians who are hungry for more !!! God Bless you! And your Jerseys. Keep enlightening us .

Now I feel like I have a little better understanding than before. I know that I will now need to open my bible and read each chapter and then read the corresponding chapter in your book. I follow the Farmer Girl on Facebook and started reading her posts when she first started explaining Revelation and thought, "She should write books!" I can't wait to read the next books she writes. Her insights and explanations make the Bible easier to read, study, and digest. I recommend this book to anyone who always thought Revelation was too much to understand, like I always have. You will not be disappointed!

Revelations revealed!
I absolutely love Erica DeWaard’s writing. Her Farmer Girl blogs have been such an inspiration. As for this book on Revelation she has certainly explained it in Layman’s terms which is amazing. I have often steered away from Revelations due to the fact that there was so much to digest and most of it being hard to understand, but Erica has broken it down to a level that I can understand. I know there are many interpretations out there,but for now I’m happy to soak up this one. Thank you Erica. God bless you and continue to use you to His Glory

Plain language that gives insight to Faith
Revaluation does not seem so scary when it’s put in language you can digest and understand. The way Erica writes puts you at ease and gives you a message to ponder and wanting to dissect more. I have loved following the Farmer Girl blog, so I was really looking forward to this book. It did not disappoint! It's brilliant - not because it solves mysteries, but because it points up what's truly important, what the Word is trying to highlight. Erica takes us through the smoke and metaphors and rather than take theological sides, she simply turns our eyes back to Jesus.
This book is easy to read, not too hard on the brain, but hits the heart. I loved it.

A clear portrait of our future
I have been following Farmer Girl on Facebook for months as she wrote her essays on Jesus and the people around him. Her humorous essays on Jersey calves served as a counterpoint to her depictions of Biblical people, places and events. They all have taught me lessons and provided viewpoints I hadn't thought of before.

This is an excellent book! Erica has a gift for writing in a way that makes something that feels somewhat complex make sense. I think this is excellent to read as you are going through the book of Revelation chapter by chapter. I appreciate how she points all things to the amazing grace we are given in Christ, and to his glory.

Revelations
Perhaps the hardest book in the Bible to understand. Erica breaks it down, chapter by chapter with an insight that inspires. This one was weighty, it wasn't one I could breeze through. I would read a chapter, then need to "chew on it". It's definitely a book I will be referring back to in the future.

This was a very good read. It gave me a broader perspective and helped pull me away from getting lost in the details. My greatest take away was being reminded of how merciful our God is. He keeps trying to reach us!

An insightful look into one of the most controversial books of the Bible. She brings the work to life without bogging it down in theology, focusing on the truth of the scriptures. Looking forward to reading more of her books that focus on our salvation and a deeper relationship with Christ.

A Wonderful Overview of Revelation

Excellent explanation of a book often misunderstood
In the process of teaching Revelation 3 or 4 times, I’ve read numerous commentaries and explanations. Erica Dewaard may be the best I’ve ever read. But, at least as important, she provides an understanding of why the book of Revelation was included in the Bible in the first place. It is a book of hope and solace. Wonderful.
