101 Powerful Promises from the Book of Mormon

Rate this book
Most of us pay attention when a promise is spoken, especially if the Lord himself is speaking. He makes no small promises. He is known for doing just what he says he will. Like all scripture, the Book of Mormon is full of promises--hundreds of them, in fact. Author Wayne Brickey has distilled into this volume some that speak powerfully to our modern-day times and specific needs. Exploring such topics as "The Wisdom of Angels," "Soaring Amid Dark Clouds," "Being Led Away from Temptation," "The Big Secret about Love," "High Interest Investment," and "The Power to Change," this book shares the meaning and opportunities that each divine promise from the Book of Mormon might present to readers young and old.

In answer to prayer I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. In teaching seminary I gained a witness of all it has to offer me personally in my journey here on the earth. In reading this book I learned of many ways to take the Book of Mormon and bring it fully into my life and share it with others.

This is a good book for quick devotional-like thoughts. There are some great stories that really lend well to those quick teaching situations. I don't know that it is a great read from cover-to-cover, but rather as a tool to find and teach some great, powerful gospel principles but in a short, concise way.

Short one page chapters that you can read like a morning devotional. Gives new insight into B of M passages. I don't know that I would purchase it. I got it from the library. Didn't get thru it before it had to go back. I'll have to get it again.

This book gives me HOPE and has a lot of spiritual common sense in it. The author certainly has the gift of understanding, which is pertinent to have when writing a book upon this subject.
