Servetus argues that the different aspects of the Trinity should be regarded as appearances/dispositions not natures. Thus, God can appear to man as a flame. The Godhead is singular, not three beings in one. Servetus is very well read and includes references to many of the other church fathers and analyzes both Greek and Latin words. There are many fascinating insights in this book to a whole host of theological questions.

This is a chilling book to read, knowing that the poor man was burned by the friends of John Calvin for his Unitarian views espoused therein.
